I don't know about you guys but to me this has got to be one of the best first person war game ever, online and off. The fact that there sometimes is like 300 poeple in one battle and everyone shooting everywhere but yet its orginized in a sence where u keep on pressing the base untill u brake there turrets and wipe the floor with those Terran Repulic. (No offence, Vonu Soverty here) Any way you can't really explain a battle like that on a game because you can't find those kinds of battels on any game and offline everything is just backround there aren't acualy bullets flying everywhere that can hit u. I guess the best way to explain it is one of those huge battels that u see on star wars with tie ships everywhere and u can't really just run in without expecting to die, which is a great aspect becuase u have to hide behind trees well pressing a base.
But the funnest thing about the game to me is probly the fact that u can now have up to 30 members in a group and start your own nukeular war.
One last thing has anyone herd more on that theiry of when the other team take over the 3 contenents that are connected to your sanctuarey and then it becomes unlocked and they can rush your sanc???

Ohh Im So Scary... BOO
I had PS for awhile then when I moved I lost some stuff but I'm going to buy cc and start playing again that was so much fun. A couple months ago I was NC and we were pressing a terran base the battle literally lasted 5 hours and like 20 or 30 minutes (NC was victorious). Thats what I love about the game I mean we literally had about maybe 400 or 500 people constantly flooding into the base but because of well placed snipers and turrets and mines we were held to like never entering the base. (At one point i actually knifed a sniper) I also jacked a bunch of vehicles even though i couldn't drive them it would make it harder for them to and at one point I jacked a reaver and did kinda a kamikaze mission but finally after 5 hours the TR were weakening and were breaking down. Slowly their air support faded then their AA fire decreased. Turrets slowed down and their snipers had to join the front lines and the max's were getting hit by phoenix missiles and we set up a huge phoenix barrage with those missiles raining down into the base and we finally hacked and and had me and a couple others on cc guard duty. We wrapped that base up with security tighter then a christmas gift. Damn that right there is what makes PS so fun i mean you can win other games for online in under and hour but 5 hours and 20 or 30 minutes for 1 base!

that game losts its fun in about....well 2 days
yes it was awsome for those 2 days, but it lost of purpose. just rinse and repeat, capture some random base, lose some random base.
you like big battles??? try world war 2 online. its the same idea except it takes places in europe during the 1940's. its more in depth. its actually fun to capture bases in ww2online. unlike Planet side where youl loes them in 30 seconds, then recap them in 30 seconds.

If your squad is good you shouldn't lose bases that quickly
And its not always a fight for a base it could be for a continent or for a tower.
I remember a fight that was three hours just to capture a key tower that would have created a bottleneck on the road we needed to get to the base.

Thats a big key having a good squad, some squads suck some dont, ive been in some where 1 hour goes by with no xp, then others where you rank up quick..
But i never get sick of being a reaver pilot.. i love it.. its so fun

lol you have to be kidding me, im sorry, but a REAL tank cant be killed by machine guns, (unlike Planet side)

planet side = tribes 2 mmo
if i wanted to play planet side i would buy tribes, and play for free

planet side is fun for about 2 days, then, the "wow" effect wears off, and you relize that theres more to a game than pretty graphix and quake style of playing
ill agree that the way damage is dealt in ps is a bit odd, but you cant compare a WWII game and a non stop space war game
and i wouldnt really trust a ranking for a game on this site from what ive seen in the past

Having played both I have to say that WWII online just blows, and to say that there is more of point is just laughable. Lose a base in 30 seconds? maybe if its a ghost hack. maybe you were just in a noob squad? My squad of 9 guys held a base for almost 30 min till some CR5's decided to come and help us, and that was against a pretty sizable force.
Does a machine gun hurt a tank in PS? ya it does, but will you out and out own a take with a machine gun? LOL no! If the tank has a gunner there is NO chance.
I played WWII online and was bored out of my mind! Ya, let me spawn way the hell out in the BFE and hope that an APC comes along to give me a ride to the action. Now thats fun!

deathdtroke, you have NO CLUE about wwiiol. you now cap parts of the enemy base and spawn into them, theres no waiting for "APC's"
just by saying that shows what little you know of the game and makes all of your opinions irrelivent.
let me guess, you spawned in, died and went home vrying to momma becvause you couldnt rambo your way into a town within 1 sec, cap it, kill everyone with your pistols, shoot down all the planes with your rifles and blow up all the tanks with your knife!!

i thought i should reply to this.
I played planetside for a good 7 months,and i personally had fun for those 7 months. then the expansion came out,and its a complete waste of money,so i quit. I was sick of lag,FPS probs,and shit like that. Its a great game,and with minor fixes,it could be an amazing game.
