BillMurphyBillMurphy Former Managing EditorMember LegendaryPosts: 4,565

After a successful closed beta, the Aeria Games team is happy to announce that Echo of Soul is headed to closed beta today. Any and all comers can now join the game for no cover charge. To mark the occasion, they've got a brand new trailer to show off.

Open Beta will last for a period of three weeks, with launch shortly thereafter.  For more info and to start playing yourself, head to EchoofSoul.us.

Try to be excellent to everyone you meet. You never know what someone else has seen or endured.

Nice game, really good open world pvp. You need to kill hostile guild members in order to level up your guild. It also has an infinite dungeon system, where system generates a random dungeon for you

Rofl all Aeria Games are p2w. Prices don't even make sense to me either.
    Good lucks and have fun.

I would say I feel bad for people who bought the founder packs for this game, but they should know better. Its Aeria games for crying out loud.

I have not played this game but just knowing Aeria is publishing it = definite p2w, not to mention the prices of all the items in the cash shop dont even make sense to me

    Hmm, which server to pick:

    • Requiem
    • Yggdrasil
    • Serepha
Yggdrasil definitely sounds cool for the odd name, but Requiem also sounds cool.

From talks on the forums and FB it looks like Requiem will be the big dog for both NA and EU (yeah, they stupidly reused names between NA and EU servers). May depend on how busy a server you want and whether you will be in a hostile guild.

I'm having a blast with this game. Love the Archer class in this game. Love the old school feel the game has. So sick of the action combat and mini ui's showing up in mmo's now.

Wish there was a healer T_T or atleast more support class options

  • titanofdoomtitanofdoom Member UncommonPosts: 263
this is a quest grind running from a to b  from the start of the map, right to the end of the content...only side excursions are the pvp *which is fair*, and the odd dungeon. There is no side areas to visit, and only one way through the game....shame, it was promising intially...
    Perennially extricating the extraneous

A lot of games are going away from the healer class because they don't want groups having to need a healer to do a dungeon or any other group content. The people that are bringing Blade & Soul to the West said this same reason is why it does not have a healer class. For people that like to play healers I can understand wanting one though.

This game is pretty good....for 2008.  It really isn't a bad game, just 7 years too late.  Most MMO players have been there, done that.

that's how I feel too, Achesoma. It's a decent game. Just a little too also-ran. I'll dabble, but that's about as far as I can commit.

I have to agree.  I just tried the beta all day and I fail to see what Echo of Soul offers over other titles.  It is fine for what it is and the combat seems fluid enough.  But the concepts are dated and I refuse to level another traditional character.  I will pass on this and roll with Skyforge for a bit.

Don't think many mmo have a no healer setup system that works well
