This is ruining the enitre mmorpg experience for me, yea we can turn it off but no one does and im left behind waiting forever to que for groups and get people to join, this game is going downhill fast, I should of noticed with there lackluster skill tree. I love the combat and the story but this has to be the worst deicison for a mmorpg, people will get bored in a few months and quit.

Anyways any suggestions? I am always looking for a sub option with good combat and group based content thanks all.

You have a few options at the moment with regards to sub games but they are all good in my opinion, which is why there is a sub or sub option still.

    Wildstar

    Darkfall Online

    Final Fantasy

    World of Warcraft

Rift (it was a sub game first and you can still sub)

Age of Conan (Same deal as Rift)

Lord of the Rings (Same deal as Rift)

    Archeage (Same deal as Rift)

Any one of these games stomps on any pure F2P game out there. Pure F2P games (day one free with cash shop) are design around the cash shop from day one, none of these games were so they offer a more immersive experience.

Exp Bonus boost or not!  Too many folks rush to max level in just about any mmorpg.

Didn't realize it was going down hill fast.  Most of the reports are that it's doing ok.  Gonna have to check out the status.  Might try it again.

SWTOR was also a sub game however - so no guarantee that the OP will like any of those :)

It depends what you want. And I am not sure what you don't like - the class exp bonuses making levelling to fast? The waiting for groups? Not sure.

If you are looking for non-fantasy then as mentioned above there is WS but I would suggest you check out the WS forums - things don't sound so good.

Or - if you haven't already - you could look at Destiny. There is an argument about whether it is an mmo-lie or not an mmo or .... its a game that does have a lot of players so no problem getting groups.

Some other non-fantasy: Pirates of the Burning Sea is different. Its adapted to its low population.

Fantasy: lots more options, see above. If you have never tried WoW check out the trial. Most other games: download and try. Aion could be added to the above. One comment about Darkfall (DF2 even): full loot PVP game, so not for everyone.

TESO is another. Maybe look at the Game List on the forums. There are a lot out there.

No thanks on wow, to oudated and didn't care for it back in the day. My mmorpg experience is old school like eq1, coh and eq2 mostly.

Tried lotro but found the combat to clunky and slow, and no this doesnt mean I don't like to think I just like to think fast.  I hear age of conans community is pretty bad but the classes didnt seem all that appealing to me, but I havent tried it.

Wildstar I know is dead I checked the forums and there is no hope for that game unless they go f2p. Thats all I know out of these games.

I did try rift briefly but didnt care for the melee attacks to much of the same animations and bland.

As I said earlier im mostly looking for a group centered mmorpg, I like sci fi and fantasy so no issues there.

I always have this fature turned off.

And i'm not having any issues steping into flash points at all. My guardian tank joins almost instantaneously while my sorc waits for like 5'. I play on The Red Eclipse and The Progenitor realms EU.

Actually it does matter because you can turn it off and the class exp makes it so no one learns there class, the class quests are for the most part very easy, and the fact the speed of leveling is insaine people will be done with all the class quests within a few months at the most.

I never did understand people's fascination with fast XP.  I imagine it's because they are in a rush to get to end game, but what does that mean really?  I mean, the game should be good from day one but apparently to these people, everything about the game sucks so bad before end game that they just rush through the game holding their breath as if they are in pain, just so that they can get to end game and finally "start having fun."  God forbid if they have to wait more than two days to get to end game.  The game is then classified an "asian grinder" and criticized to high heaven.  It's just so ass-backward to me what this genre has turned into.  Just baffling.

Exp Bonus boost or not!  Too many folks rush to max level in just about any mmorpg.

There is generally a good reason for that

Highest moneymaking methods, highest challenge PVM, the feeling of being "maxed", highest player density, etc are all benefits from being max level over taking your time.

lol, cry me a river OP. I started playing SWTOR about a month ago too and I'm still loving it. There are lots of other people playing too, at all levels, and I've had no trouble finding groups. Maybe you're doing something wrong?

They can adjust a game all day, but they can't help the issue between the keyboard and the chair.

    You call those "good reasons?"

Highest money making methods can be achieved by any competent crafter well before end game.

Highes challenge PVM?  According to who? Challenges can be achieved at any level so long as the opposition is at an equal level.

The feeling of being "maxed?"  How is that any measurable feeling of achievement when everyone does it after a couple of days?

Player density?  Again, that can be achieved at any level if it weren't because everyone was rushing to end game like bats out of hell.

Please tell me you have better reasons than the ones mentioned.  Please.  Nevermind.  There is no good reason.

I highly recommend FFXIV:ARR the main quest line is engaging, from my point of view there is no fast track lvl capping.  Crafting is refreshing and different from the normal everyday MMO (press one button, receive crafted item) type systems.  It's one of the few MMOs out right now that gets better with time.  There's a 14-day free trial so you can give it a whirl without a commitment to the box price and monthly sub.  When you do get hooked, look up GreenMan Gaming website for a digital copy, I've seen them sell the digital copy for $19.99US.

It's the obsession with what other people are doing that seemingly killed it for him. Which seems to be a problem that a lot of MMO players share (and not just on SWTOR).

Just like Shodanas mentioned above, I have no problem with findings groups on my Red Eclipse home server. And I'm guessing the same deal goes for the Harbinger and Ebon Hawk US servers.

You didn't roll on the POT5 PvP server by any chance, did you, OP?

My SWTOR referral link for those wanting to give the game a try. (Newbies get a welcome package while returning players get a few account upgrades to help with their preferred status.)

The 12x xp for class quests was meant more for long time players than new players.  I already had several characters at or near the level cap.  If I don't know how to play by now, I never will.  The xp increase just lets me level up new characters faster.  There's only so many times you can go through the same leveling content, no matter how good it is, before you lose interest in leveling new characters.

Is a man not entitled to the herp of his derp?

Remember, I live in a world where juggalos and yugioh players are real things.

Suggestion is do not every say anything bad about that game...the devs here were total fanboys and will destroy you irl for saying bad things about the game...now I'm on a 3 day ban for saying that :(

Pretty much this. I already had five characters sitting at level 55 before they raised the level cap to 60 of which I have taken 2 to level 60. For players like me with altitis, the xp boost was a blessing no longer requiring me to do all those dawn side quests for the thousandth time on my lower level alts.

This explains why I got a temp bann for making a thread about older mmorpgs and trying to explain it to newer or kid mmorpg players. Or they are paid off  to get paid ratings like many sites.
