So, this story is confusing. Back and forth accusations. The open source program Gimp might contain malware when you download it.
-SourceForge, which hosts many programs, hosts downloads of the program Gimp
-People accused SourceForge of adding malware into Gimp
-SourceForge in their defense says that Gimp was abandoned, that Gimp developers chose not to update their project on SourceForge. In return, SourceForge used mirror links for people who still wanted to download Gimp from SourceForge
-These links are often abandoned too, and since developers don't control them anymore, they often contain malware

I've only used Gimp while using Linux, but surely it can't be that hard to find a safe way to download the program?
(Also, why is this being posted in Hardware? ¯(°_o)/¯)
