You need to advance as far as Lion's Arch in the game to be able to access the Canthan Isles, where the Guild Halls are located. You get there via ferry boat.

There are several isles, all of them possessing a different motif. You'd have to seem them to understand. All very beautifully done, IMHO.

When you find the isle you like, you speak with the Canthan Ambassador to arrange a purchase, but first you must provide him with a Celestial Sigil. You can win one of these in the Tomb of the Primieval Kings, or buy one. Buying one depends on market prices. Cost of a CS for me the other day was 19 Platinum. Hall itself was 38 Platinum. Not cheap.

I founded my guild in July of 2005, and was the only one in it until a couple of days ago. (Just got it for the really cool cape). The reason I didn't invite people sooner was that I wanted to really learn the game before presuming to lead others. Since founding the guild in 7/05, I have gotten 6 characters all the way though the game, and currently have 4 20s that have finished the game on one account, 3 16s I've just gotten to the Crystal Desert on a second acount, and a level 11 Earth Elementalist I'll have there soon.

I don't "run" and I don't pay for runs. I got them all there by myself, and have beaten every mission in the game except Thunderhead Keep with all-henchie teams.

While I'm not suggesting you should follow the same course, considering the fact that you just started in the game, thinking about a guild hall may be a bit premature, IMHO.

The game is free to play. Take your time, learn the game, and have fun. The rest will come. ::::01::

P.S. GvG battles start from a guild hall, and you need at least four human players on the team to begin (you can fill with the henchies there for an 8-man team if necessary).

Like the second poster said: go to the docks in Lion's Arch and talk to one of the NPC there who offers a tour along the different guild halls. To buy a guild hall, you need a celestial sigil and you can buy them at the sigil trader which is usually located anywhere near the faction priest (random arenas, team arena, Hero's Ascent). The sigils cost around 30k at the moment, I think.

As soon as you have your guild hall, there will be a button for the guild leader and guild officers with which you can start a guild battle, very much like a party leader can start a mission in the PvE content. Mind you: only guild leaders and officers can start one.
Once you got your 8 man team ready, and you hit the button, the system will start searching for a guild that is around your own rank. If none is found within a certain amount of time, the search will be broadened to guilds that are less around your rank. Since you haven't played any battle in the new guild hall, the system will assume you at rank 1000, to give you some indication.

Just one question: where are you in the game? Lion's Arch is in Kryta bu the way. Kryta comes after the Shiverpeaks and the Shiverpeaks come after Ascalon region.

Did you do any missions yet? Not quests, but missions?

PS: sent you a link to a worldmap over Xfire (don't know if it's allowed to post links like that here). That might help a bit.

The order of missions to get to Kryta is as follows:

Northern Wall (Ascalon City): completing that takes you to Fort Ranik.
Completing Fort Ranik takes you to Ruins of Surmia.
Completing that takes you to Nolani Academy.
Completing Nolani Academy takes you to Yak's Bend.

Now, take the Road to Borliss Pass quest from Captain Osric in Yak's, but don't touch The Way is Blocked quest, unless you want some hard fighting to get to Borliss Pass.

Take the road South from Yak's to Borliss Pass. Complete that quest, and that takes you to the next mission which is The Frost Gate. Completing that will put you in Beacon's Perch. Take the quest there called "Refugees to Kryta, then follow your compass to the next mission town in Kryta, called "The Gates of Kryta." Complete that quest, and you'll go straight to Lion's Arch.

There are all kinds of quests along the way. Some will take you to new towns. Some will give you new skills. Point is to try everything. It's all good.

    Good luck.

You're right. My bad. I was typing all that from memory last night. Good catch.
