Which MMO do you think has the most content?

FaremFarem Member UncommonPosts: 49

Simple question...

Which MMORPG has the most content? (Or what future MMOs look like they will have even more content?)

Please give as many reasons you can think of. I am looking for an MMO to stay with, like most of you. Thanks in advance.

older games tend to have more content  because they been around longer such as DAoC and EQ1.

However,EQ2 for the one year its been around seems to have added more content then any other mmorpg i seen at the one year mark and many even at the 2-3 year mark.

Dunno what you mean by reasons though.Reason been some developers are less lazy then others maybeimage

As for future mmorpg i would not even speculate on them having much content or not till i actually play them.

They always advertise as having  so much content and often are very lacking on release on it.

    Asheron's Call 1 by far.

More content than you will know what to do with. I mean the even the lore behind it is insane.

    Everquest.

Pre-Kunark alone outmatch many modern MMOs in term of content.

Kunark, Velious, Luclin, Ykesha, PoP, LDoN, GoD and the 3 or 4 last.

In fact, EQ has more content than EQ2, WoW, CoH/CoV, AA, Horizons, SoR, Matrix, DDO and Guild wars put together in another stack.  Everquest is a towering giant.  Here come the details:

Pre-Kunark EQ outmatch WoW in term of content.

Velious and Kunark together outdo EQ2.

    LDoN is similar to DDO.

    PoP is similar to SoR.

The last expensions prolly have more content than Horizons, AA, Matrix and CoH/CoV...

Well maybe not that much, but you get the picture, I "stretch" it a little, but not that much.

Despite this, CoH is still my favorite MMO.  image

    What have you already played?

With expansion #11 on the way, there's more to see and do in EQ than you could ever hope to accomplish. Unfortunately, much of the older content goes unused because it has gone obsolete or become trivial in the face of "newer, bigger, better". It's an old game. There's just no getting around that.

The older graphics are something that many people dislike, and it may not be newbie friendly either. While the devs have gone out of their way in the last couple of years to greatly improve the newbie experience, it is an old game, so there aren't many real newbies and the community itself may not be newbie friendly on every server. I've helped and answered questions for new people who were very grateful because noone else would even talk to them, or laughed at them for asking, but I am not on one of the friendlier servers.

I can't really say which games coming out will have a lot of content and/or the promise of new content added regularly. I am looking forward to Vanguard, as far as PvE games go.

Id have to say Everquest 1 hands down. there is so much content I cannot even list it all..seriously..

5 continents, a moon, tons and tons of "etheral planes" my god there is so much crap in that game, so sad alot of the old stuff is deserted.

While Everquest 1 has ten times as many expansions out, there is nowhere near the level of actual depth, lore or content in EQ1 as in Turbines "Asherons Call 1".

Asheron's Call not only has tons of added content over the years, but also has meaningful and fun content. There is no crafting system in any mmo today that even touches the complexity of AC's crafting system. This is just one of dozens of examples. Crafting in AC is now so insanely complex and rewarding, that there are easily millions of possible combinations of armor, weapons and shields possible. Seeing two exact crafted items in AC is extremely rare. It is very rewarding as well, and crafted items are some of the most highly prized possessions possible in any mmo today.

The quests and dungeons added over the years are also just completely insane with AC.

I could go on and on.

The only sad thing is that as great and diverse and rewarding a game as Asherons Call is, the populations in the game don't do the game justice. I still would find it amazing if anyone could actually honestly sit down for a month and play AC and not come back and say that AC isn't one of the best mmos ever.

...Anyone who has ever honestly played AC and given it half a chance knows better. While it may not be for everyone... it is one of the most challenging and content filled mmos to date.

Since I have not played EQ1 I will omit it from my answer.

I believe FFXI has an intense end-game content feature. Yes it may take forever to achieve anything, but there is just SO MUCH to do in the game: Three Nation missions, Zilart missions, Chains of Promithia missions (and all their related quests), HNM's, BCNM's, quests in general, AFv2 Quests, AF quests, Relic quests, intense story lines just to name a few.

But to me I believe FFXI has the most content (other than EQ1)

The older successful games like UO, EQ1, AC1, and DAoC should have the most content since they've been around longest.

Out of those oldies I only played AC1, which has a lot of content added to it. AC1 up until recently had updates every month that were basically free expansions. They added lots of new quests, monsters, and items almost every single month for close to 5 years. AC1 didn't have an expansion pack in stores every other month like EQ1 did so I think it loses a lot of credit. In fact in AC1 only had 2 expansions that players had to buy, the rest of the content was free.

EQ 1 and Anarchy Online hands down.

You see, every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with their surrounding environment, but you humans do not. You spread to an area, and you multiply, and you multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet.-Mr.Smith

    Everquest, hands down.

Yea, Anarchy Online sure has a heck of a lot of content.

But, what is your idea of centent? Ive seen so many games with so many expansion packs but usually it just boils down to yet more areas and more stuff to kill. To me thats not new content. Just more of the same.

And in EQ, 99% of that content is currently untouched because the game is too large from sony milking its customers.
