You then say the playerbase is worthy of ridicule, after saying you are an expert in a game/genre/subject(not sure which your views have been wildly different in each post) you see as similar this must mean you, also, are worthy of ridicule.

My friend, can I call you friend? It seems we have a repoir going on here. To kill of a flame war, there must first be one and so far I find the lack flames disturbing. You see the 75% of the cretins that will play this game, probably think my posts are cool and think my handle is awesome and wish they would have registered it; Unfortunately, I registered it back in 04 when few knew what this was and did not get exposed to it via Cartoon Network and Hot Topic stores. That alone, according to the Something Awful guide on hipsters makes me a scene legend and my word the gospel truth. I don't care about the gameplay or lack thereof it can be summed up in three words "potion spamming grind", so you see having played Lineage II I know what I am saying. My first assesment that this game will be flooded with narutards who will try to roleplay ninja battles between Sasuke and the oniwa banshu,anbu, or similar orginazations ending in u. Not only that they will find my posts amusing and cool.
Now ask yourself why you are playing this tripe? Search your feeling you know it to be true.

As a part of subcluture your reference would make you an 'expert' only to those who consider such achievents worthy (and most of those people will probably try playing this as you guess, then get their assess handed to them by the pro pvp/pvp for fun brigade), and they might not forgive you for your name (in fact some would consider the remarks more offensive/annoying just because you stole their tag ).
As far as likening it to Lin2, for the 2 ish hours I racked up I can say in the begining it doesn't match Lin2 (which I did play for a bit, till i realised it was a grindfest). The grinding is more for raising pt (points withing skills e.g. def/off and raising the levels of attacks/buffs/spells) as levels can be run through very fast in groups (at least so I have heard, only cleared lvl 4, but i was keeping my pt up which slows lvling). And the pot spamming, well I never encountered it, and again from what i have read you only really need it for solo ganking/hunting aces(elite type mobs).
As to why I'm playing it, personally I got the open beta because the mecha/sci-fi feel is rare in mmo's (and i happen to like mecha), I continued playing because the combat is nice, and unlike Lin2 the mobs actually drop stuff and money is quite easy to come by (I had a full drop armour set, new gun, ammo, and a top of the line 'intense' sword and shield). No other game made me feel like i had accomplished something so soon into the game. The quests need more attention though, not much to go on (only just got my first at lvl 4). Bad translation is also not too much of a problem (I have played Silkroad so i can make out most of the phrases )
The game as far as im concerned is quite nice for a release state mmo. It just seems that codemasters are doing their level best to bork up the port.

Well to each his own I suppose. We can argue all day, but the truth be told I am very jaded towards Korean mmorpgs in general. I think the next time one gets released that I do like; I will save myself the monthly fee and go put my nuts in a vice for the same gameplay effect and order chinese takeout with that money to make the experience complete. So I really don't care about the merits of the game, in my comparison to lineage II I am saying the game is a hack job at best as they just redid textures, everything else is a little too earily remniscent of L2 to be made from scratch.
For PVP I would suggest Guild Wars, it's been out a while and it's tired and old and has the same percieve RF Online community but out of all the choices for PVP it seems to be the most balanced and fair to all parties, even when it is super cheesy; skill plays a big part of it. Secondly, for a mecha game I would advice to wait for Front Mission Online if it ever gets released here, they say 4th quarter on babbages, also MS Saga is being released next week for PS2, also looking very promising. I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt having played Super Robot Wars already being a professed Mecha fan.
Aye each to his own , I can see how it would look like Lin2 (Limited models/hairstyles, this is supposedly to reduce lag in mass battles, and undoubtedly does. But a few more would be nice) Infact thinking about it, the Bellato females look a lot like female dwarfs ( Cora look like stock human models from several MMOs, never got to roll one though so i could be wrong ). But again I play it because, so far, I like the feel.
If they do a free trial at some point try it out for a bit, you might come to like it. Or you may have flashbacks to Lin2 and smash up half your street in rage.... .
As to guildwars, I liked the early PvP in that. Until you saw Ascalon Arena crowded with Toons wearing endgame armour/weapons with some of the most powerful spells/abilities. But in the early days, when it was all newbs with basic kit, it was the most fun i have had online.
Ideally something with freeform PvP, that somehow prevented ganking of toons 10's of levels below you. Probably not gonna happen though.
I'll check out FMO, but I have no ps2 so MS saga is out for just now (last console i had was N64, goldeneye or PD multiplayer rocks ).
Just would love an mmo thats all mecha/sci-fi with no magic or twinkly staffs.

If you want sci-fi/mecha battles with upgrading of technology, weaponry and learned skills/attributes to be the deciding winning factors it will pleasently surprise you. The best part is all the narutards are too stupid to play it and leave within 5 minutes of the tutorial.
You don't even need a credit card or anything to do the free trail for it.
The PvP there pretty much encompasses the whole game. That said EvE has a slower pace and I still like to do something that you can log on, run about, and twat small furry beasts with a really big stick
RF is the one I'm looking at, I even tried the SWG:NGE trial..........Lets just say I probably won't go near planetside or matrix online.
Honestly the game isnt that bad... I didnt like the grind at 1st... but I do Like the PvP ALOT The shear amount of people that can get involved is great. The tactics and alliances you can make is awsome. The loot is a bit of a let down past lvl 25. But then that makes the crafters more depended on which is good. The grind though is very very slow. Also the quests need a little work. Other than that it will be an awesome game for PvP!

i played eve and enjoyed every moment of it its an really great game. easy to make money and get good ships in the beginnin and easy to do nice campaigns. with nice bonusses. i can reccomend this game to all mech/fantasy/sci-fi lover.

As a part of subcluture your reference would make you an 'expert' only to those who consider such achievents worthy (and most of those people will probably try playing this as you guess, then get their assess handed to them by the pro pvp/pvp for fun brigade), and they might not forgive you for your name (in fact some would consider the remarks more offensive/annoying just because you stole their tag
).
As far as likening it to Lin2, for the 2 ish hours I racked up I can say in the begining it doesn't match Lin2 (which I did play for a bit, till i realised it was a grindfest). The grinding is more for raising pt (points withing skills e.g. def/off and raising the levels of attacks/buffs/spells) as levels can be run through very fast in groups (at least so I have heard, only cleared lvl 4, but i was keeping my pt up which slows lvling). And the pot spamming, well I never encountered it, and again from what i have read you only really need it for solo ganking/hunting aces(elite type mobs).
As to why I'm playing it, personally I got the open beta because the mecha/sci-fi feel is rare in mmo's (and i happen to like mecha), I continued playing because the combat is nice, and unlike Lin2 the mobs actually drop stuff and money is quite easy to come by (I had a full drop armour set, new gun, ammo, and a top of the line 'intense' sword and shield). No other game made me feel like i had accomplished something so soon into the game. The quests need more attention though, not much to go on (only just got my first at lvl 4). Bad translation is also not too much of a problem (I have played Silkroad so i can make out most of the phrases
)
The game as far as im concerned is quite nice for a release state mmo. It just seems that codemasters are doing their level best to bork up the port.

What would you give this game out of a 10?
Well to each his own I suppose. We can argue all day, but the truth be told I am very jaded towards Korean mmorpgs in general. I think the next time one gets released that I do like; I will save myself the monthly fee and go put my nuts in a vice for the same gameplay effect and order chinese takeout with that money to make the experience complete. So I really don't care about the merits of the game, in my comparison to lineage II I am saying the game is a hack job at best as they just redid textures, everything else is a little too earily remniscent of L2 to be made from scratch.
For PVP I would suggest Guild Wars, it's been out a while and it's tired and old and has the same percieve RF Online community but out of all the choices for PVP it seems to be the most balanced and fair to all parties, even when it is super cheesy; skill plays a big part of it. Secondly, for a mecha game I would advice to wait for Front Mission Online if it ever gets released here, they say 4th quarter on babbages, also MS Saga is being released next week for PS2, also looking very promising. I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt having played Super Robot Wars already being a professed Mecha fan.

, I can see how it would look like Lin2 (Limited models/hairstyles, this is supposedly to reduce lag in mass battles, and undoubtedly does. But a few more would be nice) Infact thinking about it, the Bellato females look a lot like female dwarfs ( Cora look like stock human models from several MMOs, never got to roll one though so i could be wrong ). But again I play it because, so far, I like the feel.
If they do a free trial at some point try it out for a bit, you might come to like it. Or you may have flashbacks to Lin2 and smash up half your street in rage....

As to guildwars, I liked the early PvP in that. Until you saw Ascalon Arena crowded with Toons wearing endgame armour/weapons with some of the most powerful spells/abilities. But in the early days, when it was all newbs with basic kit, it was the most fun i have had online.
Ideally something with freeform PvP, that somehow prevented ganking of toons 10's of levels below you. Probably not gonna happen though.
I'll check out FMO, but I have no ps2 so MS saga is out for just now (last console i had was N64, goldeneye or PD multiplayer rocks
).

I've almost forgotten, have you tried the free trail of EvE online? It's very technical and no holds barred pvp. If you want sci-fi/mecha battles with upgrading of technology, weaponry and learned skills/attributes to be the deciding winning factors it will pleasently surprise you. The best part is all the narutards are too stupid to play it and leave within 5 minutes of the tutorial.
You don't even need a credit card or anything to do the free trail for it.

The PvP there pretty much encompasses the whole game. That said EvE has a slower pace and I still like to do something that you can log on, run about, and twat small furry beasts with a really big stick
RF is the one I'm looking at, I even tried the SWG:NGE trial..........Lets just say I probably won't go near planetside or matrix online.
Huxley looks interesting. It's amazing how game flaws can be easily forgiven if the graphics are "super cool".

its an really great game. easy to make money and get good ships in the beginnin and easy to do nice campaigns. with nice bonusses. i can reccomend this game to all mech/fantasy/sci-fi lover.
