LFGame - MMO that actually is multiplayer

SuntouchedSuntouched Member CommonPosts: 50

Ive tried alot of the recent games like ESO, Archeage, FF ARR, GW2, Aion, Trove etc. cant remember them all.

The problem ive had with all of them except FF ARR, is that you just cant find people to do dungeons with, in Archeage theres pretty much only 2 dungeons that are run and they get boring fast and you have to be max lvl and have great gear to do them. In ESO i got to lvl 45 and only very rarely did i manage to find people that wanted to do dungeons,

Its a problem that many ppl in my guild are complaining about. I think theres just no incentive to redo dungeons ever.

In FF ARR dungeons are easier to join but the combat is just so bland that its not worth playing the game.

Im looking for a game that has a strong multiplayer element, where people are always looking for ppl to do dungeons/world bosses/ quests etc with. GW2 was great for that for awhile but i played it too much and got bored.

I would like a game where you could build a house too that would be great, sometimes killing loads of trash mobs over and over again gets old, and its nice to do something else in game.

Any suggestions would be great.

I did play Tera for sometime but my gf didnt enjoy it much so we never got that far in it, not sure if its worth playing though.

I also am not a fan of tab targetting, it just feels dull, i like a game that requires some skill and has a good community.

If you don't mind older games, and non-twitch combat, then you are looking for FFXI.

The game is very group oriented, and it has a beginning middle and an end, unlike most MMOs now-a-days.

Thanks, if the combat is not as slow and boring as FF ARR and the community is still large and active then i dont mind it being an older game.

I will watch some yt vids and see if its worth giving a try.

The combat is a lot slower than ARR so you probably won't enjoy it. The community is still pretty big, but it isn't HUGE it's just relatively big on a couple servers.

Ageed. FFXI was the ultimate community social gathering of mmos but I am not even sure today it is worth buying due to the lack of people playing in.  Today's mmos are built for the anti-social soloists out there which is a large reason why most mmos today fail hard.

I tried to get into FFXI a few months back and like you say, the population just wasn't there, especially for a newbie.

Did you ever play TERA? It isn't a grouping MMO exclusively but they do have dungeons as you level. They were really fun due to the action combat and since there were a lot of minion mobs along with other stronger ones it felt a lot like Diablo in a way. Aside from dungeons it is a primarily solo themepark unfortunatly. Fun though.

P99 is a great chouce too, the ultimate grouping MMO but does have slower combat.

Its just painful to go back to Everquest and its clonies....The graphics are just so bad for 2015.

Yes as it has big, open dungeons but more to the OPs point it is more multiplayer as forming xp groups, dungeon or otherwise, is the most effective way to level.

I hear you and trust me, if there was an MMO like P99 out right now I'd be a happy man. There are two titles coming out that have that aim but are a ways out.

This person is also complaining about combat, and p99 does not help the argument .

    *meaning like P99 but modern.
  • AeliousAelious Member RarePosts: 3,521
And I included that in my post, about the combat.

To quote, "the combat is just so bland that its not worth playing the game". The combat is very similar.

I've had a lot of fun playing Neverwinter, great for dungeons and it's free
  • AeliousAelious Member RarePosts: 3,521
It's all good, things happen. Done it myself many times. Truth is there is not a group-centric MMO out there that has a faster combat system.
  • SuntouchedSuntouched Member CommonPosts: 50

Combat is pretty important for me in a game but an active community and a strong muliplayer element is more important, ill give P99 a try, and if its not what im looking for i will try out Tera(again) and Neverwinter(again).

Otherwise ill just have to wait for some of the new titles coming out soon and hope they do something good with them.
