LF a game with large dungons

lizen12lizen12 Member UncommonPosts: 4
I'm looking for a game where the dungons are really big, where it takes a while to learn them. I remember playing legend of mir and it taking weeks to learn the layout of certain area's like bug cave. I really want to try and find a game like that again where I can enter a dungon/cave and just get lost of hours grinding and fighting my way through it.

Only game that had enormous (also non instanced and non loading screen) dungeons was Vanguard: Saga of Heroes from what i know.

I remember getting lost in quite a few and spent tons of hours trying to get to end of them.

I am also curious if there is a game like that.

Aion has some pretty spacious open world 'dungeons' (areas populated with elite mobs)
They are designed for groups but some people can solo if they are proficient with their class.

I dont think that is what he's looking for.

Also agree with EQ for current MMOs. Does AC have them as well?

In the future, Saga of Lucimia seems to propose just this. Dungeons that take weeks or months to get through. We'll see.

It isnt - large open area - not a dungeon. This is something that mmorpgs have done - introduced instanced large open outside areas for groups that players started calling "dungeons". No! Dungeons are underground maze like caverns like upper and lower Guk in Everquest 1 where you get completely lost within 5 minutes.

They are not instanced... they are in the open world and are a maze.

The fact that they dont go DOWN is neither here nor there.

I'm more ineterested in this "Legend of Mir" you speak of and decided to check into it and I guess it still exists as Legend of Mir II? http://mirarcadia.com/

I also love large atmospheric dungeons to get lost in "one of my favorite aspects" and LOVED Vanguard which was unfortunately closed down. I currently am playing Everquest 1 on the new Ragefire progression server as it's the best dungeons and immersion for me at the moment. Name is Evermore, send me a shout in game if you decide to join, for the meantime though i'm gonna check out this Legend of Mir you speak of, you have piqued my interest and it sounds like something quite interesting.

I also highly recommend Asheron's Call , you buy it for $9 and can play it for free with no restrictions, it's pretty old school classic with massive dungeons to get lost in.

Had?  What happened to Vanguard?  Last I heard was a big F2P conversion and pop was rising?

That was a couple years ago.
