I was just thinking yesterday that the only possible way for them to suck out even more money would have been to put all the heroes into "trading card packs" just like Hearthstone and make the better heroes "legendary" so you have to spend tons of money and get lucky.

Looks like someone beat them to the punch and this is the system being used in Dirty Bomb as seen in this Angry Joe video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A2Mo-lFlC2I

In the end, a MOBA in which the developer is incentivized to keep bringing out new imbalanced/overpowered heroes to sell them is not a MOBA I want to play. The Dota system is the only system that is beneficial to the players.

I'm not involved with HotS enough to notice imbalances in strength. (Note: This does not mean that I deny that they may be there)

The only hero I bought was Azmodan and the price of 10.000 gold seemed reasonable, even for an irregular casual like me.

Tawess, you speak only to lol fanboys or something? Dota has many many good things going on about it - deeper gameplay mechanics, more varied heroes, more mechanics, no stupid set meta like lol, more build variety etc.

yeah , but Hots is aimed at ppl that dont like Mobas enough to dive into LOL or Dota 2 , is like every other blizzard game , easy to pick up and play , fun , polished and translated to lot of languages (voice overs included) . U dont have to worry about the "meta" for QM in Hots , u dont even have to fight to pick a heroe , since u selected it before even starting searching for a match ( heroes league is different )
