"Why, for the love of plastic bricks, are we even seeing an early access from a company that makes billions of dollars?"
Getting money to fund development is just one aspect of early access. There's also judging the market and getting feedback, which is obviously what the Lego Worlds devs want.
Rampaging about the new computer Lego , chatting it over as we go and loving it :
Most fun our little family's had in any game in literally years . Already we've :
Flown dragons
Summoned a tractor on a cloud
Ridden a drunken ostrich
Bashed a skeleton army with a fish
Built a giant cake
Lived in a double decker house
Climbed a humungous tree on horseback
Robbed every chest in sight
Scaled a snowy mountain on a camel
Quick vid of us rampaging about seeing what's out there : <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/EaDDbJ2SeOE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Tired of seeing large scale companies follow the trend, rather than make it. Looks like Lego wants to bite off a piece of the Minecraft universe.
Let me summarize how this will turn out.
Mediocre success out of the gate, followed by very little interest past several months. This won't even hold a torch to what Minecraft did and has. That is really sad, considering we are talking about LEGO here. This isn't some indie developer, it is a huge company with butt loads of resources at its disposal and its aspirations are another Minecraft clone?

Disappointed.
yep, sorry but...
you don't aim for minecratf, and hope a single player version will do.
"I'll never grow up, never grow up, never grow up! Not me!"
Love when columns come out comparing one game against another that is years younger.
Minecraft came out...then so do many copycats. So what?
Stop comparing
