Gear advice

I'm thinking about subbing for the boosted xp and class stories. When did this on my Sith Warrior, I ran into some trouble keeping outleveling my gear too quickly. Any advice on how to stay geared through the class stories?

It's no longer an issue this time around. They rebalanced the class rewards, and you get ridiculous amounts of commendations now to stay geared. :)

On top of that, they've lowered the prices of mods (armorings, barrels and hilts have gone from costing 8 commendations to costing only 2).

My SWTOR referral link for those wanting to give the game a try. (Newbies get a welcome package while returning players get a few account upgrades to help with their preferred status.)

    This.

You can only get the cheaper mods from Fleet vendors though, don't buy gear/mods from planetary vendors as they are still at the old values. As long as you have modable gear you are good to go, just don't upgrade your gear every level, you don't need it, and personally i only upgraded every 6 or 8 levels and that worked fine. image
