Looking for a good PvE game to get into

Helllo fellow MMORPG enthusiasts!

I have recently finished school and now have actual free time to delve into my favorite hobby once again.  I am currently looking for a good PvE game to play with a decent community that is not too heavily focused on grinding stuff at end-game. I like participating in group content and actually enjoy raids/dungeons and boss mechanics.  I would prefer to have some PvP in it as well but its not a priority as most MMOs I have tried have it poorly implemented or force you to grind away to be competitive. Only  one I really enjoyed PvP was in DAoC.  Please let me know which games you are playing or recommend so I can see which one fits me.

Here is a list of games I have tried but did not find to fit my style for one reason or another:

SWTOR, Wildstar, WoW, Warhammer, ESO, GW2.

Here is a list of games of games I refuse to support or touch:

Anything by Trion

Anything from Perfect World

Anything from Aeria

PFO

Currently playing single player RPGs to fill my time with LoL and Smite for my PvP fix.

The only thing I can really think of is FF14.

Its undoubtedly a pve game, with a side dish of pvp.

There are 8 man raids, and 24 man raids, ironicaly the 24 man raids are the more casual ones, which usually can be completed in an hour with a pug though the duty finder.  The 8 man ones are the progression raids, and require a dedicated team.

lots of dungeons leveling up, and hardmode dungeons at end game, in addition to other level cap dungeons.

Trial bosses, which are single encounters similar to say, onyxia.  These have multiple difficulties, with different mechanics in each.

The dev team seems to be very dedicated to the game, with regular new content, both story, trial, raid, dungeons, and fluff content like the gold saucer and triple triad.

The expansion is releasing in about 2 weeks, and you need to have the current storyline done to get into it, but they should be making it easier to complete soon, with increased xp and better gear rewards.

Well, I guess Rift and Defiance is out based on your list  (both of which I've recently started playing over the least few weeks and enjoying).

Have you tried Lotro?  I enjoy the Pve and lore;  I find the community really good;  PvP is a bit different (you can jump in and develop a Monster to fight against other players).

Also, I know these aren't RPG,  but I've been having a lot of fun jumping into War Thunder for quick Tank and Air battles. I'm also really digging WoW  (World of Warships).  Star Conflict was also fun (at least for a few weeks).

Thanks for the replies.  I have been keeping an eye on FF14 but I am waiting to see how things are during the launch of the expansion.  I also need to find a good group to run with as I prefer playing and MMO with other people. The other one I have been looking into is Tera but I am not sure what the community is like or how grindy it is to progress your character at the end. I have heard the community for the most part is not very friendly towards new players which has kept me from trying it. I would happily stick to playing Marvel heroes 2015 but I find killing the same boss 200-400 times for a BiS item very unfun even though I like the actual game itself.

You have pretty much excluded everything that meets your criteria besides FFXIV. As I understand it, there's a lot of work to be done to catch up in FFXIV; you have to complete the main story to play the expansion or something? That & the 2.5 second GCD is my main deterrent, though otherwise it was (and presumably still is) a fairly decent game.

As for TERA - it's as grindy as ever. It's been streamlined a lot, and the BGs are at least decent (by comparison to FFXIV's lackluster PvP). Unique combat & underwhelming everything else.

I'd just go with Final Fantasy XIV. There's not a lot else to be waiting for right now.

I've tried to get into FF several times myself but the 2.5 second GCD is unbearable. I can't manage to get past level 30. Going from a game like ESO or Tera to FF is brutal.
