Paints a pretty picture dont it? 10k+ online at the weeks peak time. Taking the industry calculation of a 1/3 of total suscribers on at any one time that only takes SWG to 30k.

Wow, those numbers are truely pitiful =(

Careful, this post got deleted off of this website because someone claimed that these numbers were h@cked. Nasty word, and completely untrue in how these numbers were obtained. Big debate. Another can of worms.
  • digrizdigriz Member Posts: 254

Second hand info, im sure ::::02:: that these stats are posted in many other places on the net, so h@acked may not be the keyword, casually found would be it.

How exactly are these numbers obtained? They'd be easier to swallow if that information came to light.

I wouldn't say that. Numbers dropped post CU, but they were improving and as i only had a month of pre-CU and hadn't dealt with the more intricate side of crafting etc, it wasn't that bad. For me that is. (mind you completely decimated the community, oh Babette how we missed you)

Being caned by a butterfly after killing a fair share of thugs was annoying, but i adapted fairly quickly. Mind you it's easy to forget the huge number of bugs in the final pre NGE days. I couldnt open my mail a second time in a session without crashing. Did they fix it. Well that would be customer service, wouldn't it? so no.image  NGE  was the killer, yeah, RIP SWG  /mourn

  • Wow, surprised those numbers are as high as they are. I figured the exodus woulda been higher.

They weren't hacked out, they were "requested" out, hehe. A program was used to send a request (not a hack) for information for each IP's activity. This is the same information the Log In server uses to tell the current server load, and wasn't protected (before the NGE why would they care, numbers were decent for the most part, and no one had an interest to do this). SOE has already closed this little window into their soul...

I'll start my own SWG... with Black Jack... and Hookers!!!

    In fact, forget the SWG!!!!

It has been pretty much confirmed those numbers were real....the fact they were "hacked" is incidental

    Anyway...IBL/IBD

Are you looking at the same numbers I am? Because 700 people on Bria, the first and largest server, is pretty poor in my estimation. It would have been nice to know what time of day this "snapshot" was taken. I would have taken several before posting my findings so I could be sure of having a comprehensive picture. If they had 250k subs at one point you would think that number would be around 25k total for all severs at peak hours at that time. If this snapshot were taken at peak hours that means that they're at about 50% to 60% of their previous subs. They've had Christmas, EpIII DVD and promos and they're still only at 10k tells me things are bad. They've got nothing but promos from now on to help them get these numbers up and the bad press keeps coming, see CBS article. I think I hear the taps bugler warming up.

Friday evening would be as primtime as it gets. Glad to hear it wasn't Monday at 10:30 am.

Jesus H Christ those numbers are low! To be honest it's no suprise, SWG took a hit with the CU, but the majority plodded on and IMHO the game was fun for a while, till the loot-based RotW all-but buggered the crafters, then the NGE came along and finished the game off.

I would be certain to give SWG another try if it were managed by someone other than SOE, someone that actually gave a f**k about the players.
