Well I just hit 59 on my warrior and soon will be 60, but I want to play an alt while im waiting for guild to run instances. So whats a good alt to play? Im alliance, so I want to be able to play alliance still with my friends alts. I just want a fast leveling class. So talk me into playing a certain class. ::::01:: Only thoughts right now is mage, hunter, or rogue. Although I hate rogues and I have always harrased them, it would be quite hypocritcal for me to make one.

    Well when you hit 60 you'll want to protection spec so that you can tank in the instances. It's well worth having a read on the US forums how to do this well, as getting a good rep will really help you. But basicly at that stage your damage days are over (until you're well enough geared for PvP anyway). When tanking you are not in the business of doing damage, that's the DPS guys responsibility, you're in the business of having as many bad guys as possible beating on you, while you take as little damages as poss (making the healers job easier).

    That being so I recomend the Mage as a good alt. Totally damage, and a completely different style to the warrior should make for a nice change of pace. Also you can put the tactics you learn in the 60's runs to good use in lower level instances for some really fun sessions, and show new guys the ropes.

    Have fun man.

    The race doesn't always go to the swiftest, nor the battle to the strongest, but that's the way to bet.

    You dont have to go full protection to tank. The best pvp/tank spec would be 21/5/15, more rage, more armor, and more defense. Other then ubrs, lbrs, brd, strath and scholo, im probably not going to be tanking. I havent run any of the end game instances like mc, bwl, and zg, but I guess for protection would be good for those circumstances.

    the problem with that plan is that you will get ripped assunder by the ever growing proportion of players that have full epic sets.

    You're not going to be able to lay a glove on these guys in the BG's unless you have top end gear, and to get that you need to do the instances (and they're great fun anyway, so why not), and to get regular runs you need to be a good tank who gets regular invitations.

    If you would like to stick with PvP, my advice is to stay at L59 so you won't be going up against those epics.

    Your question does not include enough information about what you like to do and what your playing style is to give an accurate answer. If you team a lot then rogues and mages can be very fun but both have limitations when solo questing or grinding. Mage massive dps is offset with kleenex armor and low hp's so when things go wrong, and they do, things go down the toilet in a hurry. But the mage has a load of options for dealing with those difficulties. Rogues are a blast at lower levels when solo or teamed but when they start doing really decent damage, then you get the aggro and leather armor won't hold you up long. A good tank and healer is vital.

    Having all classes on both sides the best fit for my non/pvp solo questing and grinding stlye is the hunter. He is versatile, tough to kill and their pets can be very helpful. For grinding and solo play, don't sell short the shadow priest either. It's really all about what you enjoy and how you play. Good luck and have fun.

    I find the priest a challenging, but powerful class to play.  If you can find someone working up a paladin, I suggest duo'ing with them as priest/paladin.

    im gonna say go with Hunter...simply because out of all the classes I have played, the Hunter is one of the most fun. Being able to pick and choose and then later name your pet is really cool. Throw in a RP side to it, and its a really fun combination. Go beast mastery as your talent line though.

    To comment on the above post...i am currently working on a Priest ALT. they are challenging, but very fun.

    good luck! ::::20::

    You won't know until you try it.  If you prefer being up close and personal, go with Rogue as your next class.  Otherwise, use mage or hunter.
