when is the open beta for vanguard. I mean the good open beta not the one u have to cry for in the formuns.

Its unsure if there will be an open beta for Vanguard. There will be a stress test in stage 4 but not neccessarily an open beta. EQ1 had a stress test with 25k people. Vanguard is a lot bigger in the size of its world and will require more people. WoW's stress test had 500k people. I have no idea how many people will be allowed in to Beta 4 but I would expect a lot as stress tests are often used more as marketing tools.
Your best bet is to sign up today on the official forums. When they get to your number they will email you a beta application. Currently the game is in beta 2 and has been in this stage since 12/15. Beta 3 hopefully will start soon and should be the longest stage most likely lasting between 4 and 8 months. After stage 3 is done you will get your stress test. Currently there are a little over 50k total registered forum users so most likely almost everyone will get into the stress test.
He made up that Beta 3 will last 4-8 months. Im not saying hes wrong, its just we dont really know. If I had to guess how long Beta 3 would last Id say 3-5month, but Im just making that up too

Other info: The devs have really hinted to people that have a lot of contact with them that this game will indeed be out sometime Summer 2006(say between late May-August).
No way on earth the game will be ready for a summer 2006 release, more likely a late 2006 or even a 2007 release.

But anyways, They will probally just throw it up on Fileplanet, and mail you Beta KEys like every other MMO that does a Stress Test Beta.
Well they have said that it will definitely be 06, with much speculation on late summer or fall release.
I would really like to see them take their time and really polish it up nice before launch, instead of pushing it out and not really being finished. It seems they want the same thing, saying multiple times exactly that, hence why they have not specified an exact release. That being said it is entirely possible that it will be a Christmas 06 release, which i think is a realistic estimation. They have also said that they want a nice long beta to get all the bugs out and really get it to a high level of polish, and right now they are only a few months in.

They haven't told us yet if they'll even have an open beta.
I think they will try hard to push it out before WoW's expansion so it doesn't get lost under the radar. A lot of people will come to VG because they are bored with WoW but the expansion will draw them back in.

i believe in this theory as well, but if wow's exp releases before July i don't think there will be any chance. I'm not sure whats all going to be in the wow exp, but having just a lvl 70 max and some new raid content isn't going to hold people for long.
unless they fix some endgame issues with pvp and endgame progression it wont be any less boring once u hit 70 anyways. i do think that if vanguard doesn't release before wow's exp.....they should wait at least a couple months after it does, if they are even concerned about this at all....witch sigil may not be.
