There's a lot more to visuals than high poly counts, slick textures and vfx.
While some might like this to me the style and atmosphere trumps all, and this just looks like another assassin's creed game.
Something tells me you haven't played an "Uncharted" game yet. No biggie if you haven't, specially since it's primarily a console title I believe, however about what you said trumps all: style and atmosphere is in the Uncharted games in spades. The games are very linear, but the atmosphere, sound, visuals, and how the protagonist moves and interacts with the environments is definitely top notch amongst single player games in the same category.

We see where some people's priorities lie though... Graphics really don't mean a whole hell of a lot to me after about five minutes of play in most titles.

It looks fine, but there are other games that have as good graphics. And I do not agree that Naughty Dog is the best in the business. Bioware and CD Project Red are the best in the business with Bethesda following a close second.

I used to think the same thing until I played the first 2 games (haven't started on the third yet) and I gata say as a person whom doesn't really like fps games, these games are fantastic! They actually have a story to go along with gameplay. I wouldn't ever compare to a call of duty or battlefield game.
Would you guys think that Sony did much better than Microsoft ?
I would believe so between this and the FF7 remake....I'd personally give it up to Sony having the better show this year.
Microsoft does have some heavy hitters coming this year like Rise Of The Tomb Raider, Halo 5 Guardians, Forza Motorsport 5 and Gears Of War Ultimate. They also moved Crackdown, Scalebound and Quantum Break from E3 to Gamescom in August.

it's not a fps by the way it's more like tomb rider.
I think its good to note, Uncharted is like a scripted movie more than an open game. They can do a lot more in some aspects because they don't have to worry about others. This is also something the PC has been capable of doing for some time. The environment visuals and physics have been things seen in the PC industry. The main difference is the player character. With only 1 player character and a bunch of supporting characters, you can dedicate a lot of resources to the 1 character.
At the end of the day its just a basic 3rd person rail shooter with pretty visuals tacked on.

You just got burned at the stake for saying that, at least 10 times or more. You simply can't say such things about Naughty God's masterpiece. /s
Sometimes it does make me wonder if they ever look outside of their bubble, because it has already been achieved before. As far as a scripted movie experience goes, Uncharted is probably more interesting between that and its rival Gears of War.
Multiplayer though? That hands down goes to Gears of War.
OP should've posted pictures of smiley faces and and stick drawings and called it "deeply immersive" gameplay. This is Mmorpg dot com and if it looks like Foie Gras, it must taste like shit.

Ehhh.. I wouldn't say "hands down." I prefer Uncharted's multiplayer because I felt more freedom with how I played, and the controls. Also having a bit more than just Horde mode in a PvE capacity, which is the most fun part to me. I guess that's my main thing, I just prefer jumping and climbing around as I kill stuff. lol
this is hilarious because current gen consoles literally do not have the power to generate the same level of GFX that current gen GFX cards can.
So while yes it looks great, this is probably about max what a console can do and about 75% of what current gen PC gfx can do. Do to their closed nature consoles will just never be able to keep up with PC' in terms of processing power, ever.
The only way consoles could keep up or even beat PC tech is via parallel computing. Using their always on system they could share unused resources over a hosted network with other consoles that are currently active. the ps3 Cell technology talked about that way back in the day, never to be heard about since.

I am talking strictly visuals and atmosphere, not gameplay. Look at Okami for PS2, look at Bastion, Transistor, Ori and the blind forest, Limbo, heck Journey. Amazing art and atmosphere can be done without photo realism. That was my entire point - as the OP claimed "most impressive visuals of any game" - I disagree.
It's funny you say this, because Naughty Dog has some of the best artists in the industry working for them. It's also one of the hardest studios to get into (second to maybe Valve). Creative vision and having an artistic eye are two of the main things they screen for on all positions having to deal w/ content creation. I've even seen them turn down TDs with crazy resumes because they weren't artistic enough for their vision.
Furthermore, while I do agree that visuals are only part of what makes a game, Naughty Dog has already demonstrated that their games are more than just pretty. They handcraft their environments to be more than just photoreal, it's insane how much work goes into them. Most studios (Ubisoft / Assassin's Creed included) make environments that look good enough, but are cluttered with filler elements. Naughty Dog is one of the few studios that actually layer their environments properly, starting with gameplay, visuals, and making sure each scene has a history to it that makes sense within the context.
Perhaps the best example of this was in 'The Last Of Us'. Granted, I'm not nearly as excited for uncharted 4 as I was for the last of us, but the talent is still there. Would be nice to see them branch out a bit more, though.
Would you guys think that Sony did much better than Microsoft ?
I would believe so between this and the FF7 remake....I'd personally give it up to Sony having the better show this year.
Personally I think Sony crushed MS this year. However, tbh I think Sony's always had the better product. There's only a couple titles that are exclusive to XBox, and personally I think that they are overrated (was never a huge Halo fan). MS tends to do a lot of fairly generic games, and focuses more on pushing random features that may or may not be worthwhile. Sony on the other hand has always had good / better hardware, and has a lot more interesting games (imho) than Microsoft does.
This year seems like an especially good one for games, though, and I'm definitely excited to see what results. The FF7 remake is excited (I hope to god that SE doesn't fk that one up), but there's so much more than that. No Man's Sky looks amazing, the guys who did Little Big Planet have a cool concept in the works, new fallout, new batman, last guardian, etc. etc. etc. the list goes on.
There's a lot more to visuals than high poly counts, slick textures and vfx.

I agree with DM here.
This title looks slick, but I think only a fool buys a book because of the cover.
Graphics, graphics, graphics is this only thing what you guys care about?
Not only can top notch graphics being shown on PC ONLY(consoles are to weak for that)even if you have at moment a Titan X or Fury X they still can't run games at 60fps in 4k barely.
But my point is why you guys always about graphics and not start making topics asking where are the top notch A.I games realistic dynamic worlds and super good path finding by npc's or mobs.
It's been terible for the past 10 years progression they made make the world realy believable with super realistic A.I and DYNAMIC WORLDS.
I rather see top notch A.I with real life day cycles of NPC's thats give a feeling you live in a belivavle world or realistic dynamic worlds with weather elements have real impact on everything happen in games you play.
It's all about graphics graphics graphics but 90% most of time can't even run it and have put settings on low or medium.
Stop bullshit about graphics get some top notch A.I and Dynamic realistic game worlds.
Not to mentions also the movement and facial expression that's believable in games.
A.I-Dynamic and its physical impact plus movement and facial expression still in it's infant stage and way behind graphics which they focus on for past 10 years but for got the rest:(
I loved the new TW3 game and novigrad was very well created and believable but still its for most a very simple scripted town and many times WAXMUSEUM where npc's always stand on same place saying same thing over and over again A.I and Dynamic was still primitive:(
On topic they look ok but a console can't run this.
Plus promotional screenshots never end up in games when released most time there sneaky dumb down so console and pc can run it.
Hope to build full AMD system RYZEN/VEGA/AM4!!!

I never said consoles are more powerful. What I am showing and will continue to show is that talent rules over specs. Sure better looking games can be made but they are not being made because the devs don't have the talent to do it. Just imagine what Uncharted would look like if Naughty Dog made it on PC. I don't care about on paper specs of your gpu and cpu, what I care about is the games. PS4 is only 2 years old so if you think its maxed out you don't know anything about consoles. Go look at 2 year old PS3 games and compare them to games made years later. Go look launch PS4 games and then look at games like Driveclub and The Order 1866. Consoles games always look better over the life of the console. Next year games will look better and every year they will keep looking better while the consoles get cheaper.
I got another one for you. This game was just shown at E3 by Sony 1st party Guerilla Games and it also looks better then any game on PC. It got Game Of The Show over anything shown at any conference and that includes the PC conference.
after watch dogs i never ever trust trailers and gameplay till The game is out..... that said graphics are not everything. looks like a ok game if i had a ps4 i'd probably buy it but i bough a xbox one instead.

Aww I had my fingers crossed for another Jak & Dexter
OR EVEN BETTER
Coco Bandicoot :O
But this does look pretty, yes.
Sway all day, butterfly flaps all the way!
so real life looks just like another assassins creed game
Lets just wait for the real game and compare then ^^

Watched the trailer. Nice looking game although a bit cartoony. I think GTA V on PC looks better though.
