Avatar Creations has released a new patch for sci-fi based MMORPG Perpetuum. The patch's key feature is a long awaited random assignment system.
The new system is promised to be truly random:
Random assignments are generated specifically for you when you request one, and the actual objectives will be determined randomly based on the assignment template, the request location, the assignment level, and the surrounding facilities. Currently we have 27 different assignment templates in 8 categories.
Other features the patch includes are:

Sure like the new system. Being able to teleport back to the terminal is awesome after a mission takes you out to BFE.
Its also nice to play a game where the developers sit in chat often and answer questions. I jumped back in to try the new system and Dev-Zoom has been in chat almost every day.
Perp was derped.
I dont even know why the devs are bothering with the game anymore. Seeing that it gets updated once in a pink moon.
Forum is full of people raging and saying the game is dead and buried, so I guess patches like these are funny, to say the least.

Game is a poor rip off of Eve, but is a few bucks on steam and has no sub. Yet even with no sub fee there has been <50 total players for a couple years.
During beta/steam launch when the game briefly had players the server couldnt handle more than 150 or so at once without crapping out. The game engine was made by the most amature of game developers and was never suited to be a real mmo.
The combat is worse than eve, even with it's WSAD. When I briefly played there was a rule of thumb where every pvp robot HAD to have a tech 4 lightweight frame or couldnt pvp and every robot HAD to be fitted with this and that. There was so little custimization that everyone had to pick basically the same fittings. The robot movement was so slow that it made their line of sight and wsad movement pointless. It would literally be a 15min walk to the closest spawns outside of any base, and they would look like they were right there but robots moved so slow.
Oh and those 50 or so players that have been around for years? They run bots all day long cuz the devs don't care. Bots farming npcs and bots mining.
So What Now?
Oh I still very much want to play it but had hoped to be part of Alpha back in the day
(AKA i'm poor)
Seems to be 50percent discount at the moment though :Oooo
But I can only do paybyphone *sob*
Sway all day, butterfly flaps all the way!
Game is actually fun and it's b2p. I find myself returning from time to time. PVP happens and people do not need to grind XP as you 'level up' in realtime (so the longer in the game the more skillpoint you gather).
But development is slow and game would need more players!
