UPDATE: Founder & CEO Bercilak has updated the forums with a full changelog of the update including Hellgates, Missions and Factions. Check out the full post on the Albion Online forum.
The Albion Online team has sent word (and a new trailer!) to announced that the summer alpha testing program will open on June 29th. The new phase will include several key improvements based on the last alpha event, including the recently revealed Hellgate events.
There are significant new upgrades to the game from top to bottom, and we'll be bringing you a full preview of all the new content as soon as we're able.
You can read all about the Summer test over on Albion's official site.

Instead of just passing along this Albion Online advertisement like it's news, why not at least write what improvements it will have. Seems lazy to me. This is an advertisement to sell a 50$ alpha not a news story or else it would contain actual information.
Albion Online's PVP is very low skill ceiling and entirely gear based. Whoever has the best gear will win. No strategy. Hardly any abilities that have counters or require timing to use. 50$ to alpha test this joke of a game is laughable.
Hard to believe anyone would pay 50$ for the alpha to a dumbed down mmo made for phones and tablets lol.
Wish I was one of the lucky Alpha participants back when it was free.
But I will end up buying it anyhow so I hope the live footage will be interesting!

Crafting have daily cooldown limits?
P2W and PvP game would be destined to fail xD
Nah just conflicting news
but i'm done educating people about that stuff lol

Hands down one of the most pathetic trailers for a game I have ever seen. Almost 7 minutes long and under a minute of that is actual gameplay footage, the rest dedicated to cosplay, weird roaming vistas of real life landscape instead of game landscape, and devs promising features during an Alpha period.
I lol. I will look upon the incoming threads of "I bought the founder's pack!" disappointment post-launch with mirth and satisfaction.

1. The "Indirect advantage via trade argument" (Pro P2W)
The argument says that you get an advantage by doing the following: Buy gold with real money. Trade that gold away to other players for items and/or silver. Therefore, indirectly, you have just bought yourself an advantage.
The counterargument does states that while you do obtain items or silver in this way, it is not an issue because i) Another player has gotten the benefits for your trade, in terms of the gold you paid him. So it is not just you who "wins", it is the other player or other players as well. So you could call it "pay for others to win". This is very similar to the Plex system in Eve Online, that is widely considered not be to Pay to Win.
Its Pay 2 win>< too bad, was looking some think to play.

Murican-style crony-"capitalism", the very essence of it right here.
Go to hell!
Well this argument might have been valid for the last test... But infact they are trying a different approach in this Alfa.
Gold will be used for vanity items and fluff. So NO P2W!

As for paid Alfa... There will always be haters. But its like preordering a game. Besides we are many that have bought it and played it in last test and still are excited about the game!
Games Played: Anarchy Online,Star Wars Galaxies,WOW,Eve,Darkfall,Vanguard, Fallen Earth,SWTOR,GW2,Tera,ESO,Wildstar, Black Desert, Archeage & Albion Online
Now playing: Conan Exiles & Rocket League
Games looking forward to: Diablo 4! & Star Citizen?
Wow. It's rare you come across a trailer which gives so little information about the game it's for, especially given the length, but I have to give kudos to these people. Seven minutes wasted and I know almost nothing about the game which I didn't before I watched it. Well, other than the fact that the devs seem to be fans of cosplay and possibly LARPing.
Still not going to pay $50 for an alpha of a free to play game, especially not when one of the core concepts is so hopelessly broken and imbalanced, it's laughable.
AN' DERE AIN'T NO SUCH FING AS ENUFF DAKKA, YA GROT! Enuff'z more than ya got an' less than too much an' there ain't no such fing as too much dakka. Say dere is, and me Squiggoff'z eatin' tonight!

Since I play firefall which applies a similar system you can buy Red Beans from packages and buy gliders, vehicles, skins, battleframes ->loadout/class, some other misc. stuff from a shop but they're all tradeable on the market where you can buy with Blue credits (ingame currency)
Other then that these are just more fancy items of the default items in game.
You can also just exchange the blue credits for the red beans so there's a constant rate.
That's the only model I call justified since it's reasonable and I just played the game and got everything I want whilst just playing the game.
I like your Think to play model XD
P2W irks me but this model just makes me laugh. Like I care that he bought stuff of the market, i'll probably merchant it anyhow and get it for myself :Dddddddddd lovely
PvP also makes or breaks it, the items have no advantage on the gameplay itself and that is crucial for me to enjoy a game. (not on PvE either)
In Albion Online it's going to be even more hilarious because it's Full Loot PvP so i'm sure there will be some very interesting/desired items out there that everyone wants to PK due to the store worth
eventually markets get saturated so props the the first players buying stuff from Albion who will get these items into circulation.

HI I am one of the develoeprs of the game
1. Pay2Win
Our payment model is exactly like EVE's despite the fact that instead of a subscription we have a premium model. And our Plex is called Gold
2. Combat
The combat is getting more and more skill based with each iteration. In the upcoming alpha we have added a lot of skill shots and new items and thus spells. Be aware that it is a huge difference if you are developing for a 5vs5 scenario like in a MOBA or for a 100+ vs 100+ scenario with Arrows flying around
Kind regards,
Stefan

yea count me in as well. i participated to the previous alpha as well, and i was addicted already. and the changes they announced since then are REALLY making a difference. the removal of gold from crafting is a brave move. they singlehandedly removed all kinds of microtransactions with that. you pay a monthly premium if you want and thats all. no benefits from gold anymore. not even faster progression.
and they also removed much of the grind (silver and gold) from crafting as well.
Any idea if this is the topic of the 'major announcement in the next 10 days rumor' ?
As much as I really enjoy the gameplay of Albion (gold founder), this game is relegated to nothing more than a micro-niche game that once again caters to only the hardest of the hardcore PvP guilds.
As mentioned by some others it is a harsh gear curve game. You're plugging along in your T4 gear and someone comes along in T5/6 and you do not stand a chance.
This game will be dominated by elite guilds, you know the kind you need to submit like 10 resume's before they even consider you, and unrealistic play time requirements.
As a 42 year old casualcore player I can play the game as hard as I want, but in the end it's just chasing the white rabbit and burning out trying to stay competitive.
What are your other Hobbies?
Gaming is Dirt Cheap compared to this...
The part in the video that baffles me is when the guy says "you can be this, or you can be that" because you can be NONE of those things unless you are in a big group at all times. And when I say big group I'm not talking about you and a couple buddies.
Sure you can be a crafter and sell your stuff but there is a very high chance that a huge group will roll through where you're at and take your stuff.
This game is in no way casual or solo player friendly and ends up being a headache unless you're in a big guild.
I really hope the devs see the problem they have on their hands and do something about it. I like the crafting and art style and it would be a shame to let the game suffer because of just a few people.
Actually this is a typical EVE problem. We did design Albion Online to mititgate this problem. This is why guilds can own differet kind of territories. They are protected and are the place where you build up your village. Of course we added time slots when this territory can be attacked.
But even more important the fights around this territory are "5vs5 Dominaition matches" and under certain circumstances the defender also can get a bonus on his values. A lot of people where very sceptical regarding this matches but meanwhile they became very popular. Dont forget that we have other objectives in the game world where we encourage larger scale pvp with unlimited amount of players.
Another side note. If you want you can even hire mercenaries (ohter players) to defend your territory for you.
If you dont aim for the high tier resources you can also build up your crafting stations and buildings on your private islands. You can not craft the high tier stuff there but also very valuable items.
We actually have a lot of casual players enjoying these parts of the game.

Yeah I'd pay to play Fortnite too. That looks FUN!
Correct me if I am wrong but to be playing now you would have had to be a really, REALLY early supporter or have paid $100 for access to the Alpha. I cannot envision there being "a lot of casual players" that would do either...
