Path of Exile: The Awakening Expansion Targeting Early July for Release

The latest State of the Beta and Timeline Until The Awakening Release letters have been posted on the Path of Exile site. Both give a great overview of the progress Grinding Gears has been making during the beta process for The Awakening expansion. According to the State of the Beta letter, the team is shooting for an early July release of the expansion.

According to the Timeline post, most of the core content for The Awakening is complete and work is progressing on balance and bug fixing. It is expected that The Awakening will be the strongest release yet. Players will be gratified to learn that beta testing will continue up to a few hours before the launch of The Awakening.

    i still haven't played this game after my first playthough. it unlocked some new class or w/e but i am not that much into ARPGs to replay it. maybe now is the time.

    my top MMOs: UO,DAOC,WoW,GW2

    Past players may be interested in the new deterministic lockstep feature which effectively removes "desync" by forcing the client to always be in sync with the server (a great feature if your latency is low).
