lol. that first video, the voice acting is terrible!
If someone is talking in general chat in a language you dont understand, chances are they're not talking to you. So chill out and stop bitching about it!
It looks sad.. but most of all it sounds sad.. Please hire some real men voice actors to yell "For Glory, for the Emperor. I cringed every time when the guy used the word brothers. Because all I could imagine was some geek with some birth control glasses wearing skinny jeans sipping on his green tea.. Zero goose bumps here.. Zero Testosterone ... Stay away from the Soy.. Lift some Kettle Bells, get off the Yoga.. Please I love this IP don't screw it up.
Almost every time I watch their videos I find the devs talking to be detracting. It is a major turnoff for me and almost to the point of not wanting to get this game.
Kyleran: "Now there's the real trick, learning to accept and enjoy a game for what
it offers rather than pass on what might be a great playing experience
because it lacks a few features you prefer."
John Henry Newman: "A man would do nothing if he waited until he could do it so well that no one could find fault."
FreddyNoNose: "A good game needs no defense; a bad game has no defense." "Easily digested content is just as easily forgotten."
LacedOpium: "So the question that begs to be asked is, if you are not interested in
the game mechanics that define the MMORPG genre, then why are you
playing an MMORPG?"
I was SINCERELY hoping for bad voice acting. Guys... c'mon, like, yes, this looks pretty bleh, but y'all know that's not voice acting, right? Riiight?
Many co-op/mmo/multiplayer games advertise with voice-over chat conversations. This is legit them saying that hardcore WH40k fans play the game and yell FOR THE EMPEROR in their teamspeak or (hopefully) in-game voice chat.
I think, at best, only one voice in that first video was a coded generic voice, the rest sounded like your usual advertisement of "look, people like you take this game for realsies, so come play with them!" ...Personally I would've taken them starting with one planet, making a real MMORPG, and future expansions just going to other planets and opening up new races/factions. But y'know.

YOu focus on the wrong thing. Voice acting or not, this is what they choose to put on there. You may love it but I reject it. It makes me question the whole project.

I bought the game because of the promise of an open world. Instead, we get a Space Marine multiplayer standalone which ups the number of players per match. If it stays as such, the game will be dead within months, and many founders (myself included) WILL be getting refunds.
I'm still holding on, but my confidence in this project and the developers behind it is extremely low at this point.
AN' DERE AIN'T NO SUCH FING AS ENUFF DAKKA, YA GROT! Enuff'z more than ya got an' less than too much an' there ain't no such fing as too much dakka. Say dere is, and me Squiggoff'z eatin' tonight!

I'm pretty sure I said this looks bleh, but you focused on the wrong thing I guess. ): I was clarifying for people immediately dismissing it due to the "voice acting." You can hate a game for a lot of reasons, at least hate the game for REAL reasons, not ones that are misconceptions of shoddy advertising. This is shoddy advertising, the game looks shoddy, the company made games like Ice Age and now is given the WH40k IP? No one really expected anything fantastic, but at least hate the game for that, not some hardcore fans sitting in ventrilo yelling for their brothers to die honorably in combat. I rather appreciate they have diehard fans on their team. I do not appreciate GW's stranglehold on them, the lack of initial funding, or the limited scope of their design intentions because we deserve an MMORPG, not a shooter that's just a ramped up version of Space Marines.
But god, I'd rather the devs/testers NOT talked like that. I understand you have been playing that game in testing for quite some time, so showing heart about it might be a little hard, but christ those voices pretending like they cared was so bad. It sorta made me feel WORSE about the game in a way haha
As a lifelong 40k fan since the 80's, and someone that loves and follows the tabletop, Black Library novels, and all video games, this is turning into another ugly looking less masquerading under the Warhammer licence. This was a nightmare from the day the MMORPG was cancelled (or maybe announced).
Dated. Clunky. Old. Boring. It looks worse than Space Marine, a game released years ago. Alpha footage? Guys ... it's not going to get much better than this. You can tell a solid Alpha game when you see it, and you can tell a dud. This is a dud.
Why it is so difficult to make a good Warhammer/40k game is beyond me. In all the years what have we had? Dawn of War and Dark Omen? Am I missing anything else of note?
to all the haters please PLEASE watch the interviews or twitch streams or at least read about the game before posting about the game. the founders access is more or less a closed alpha of the game so the people who spent money on the game will get a chance to test a small scale battle so we can test the combat and what not the game is going to be open world and will have phat sexy lootz i mean just go look at the rouge trader store. the game will not be pay to win everything on the rogue trader store is cosmetic just so you can make your character look badass i believe they even coin the term "pay to look badass" the best gear will be in game. they plan on putting all races in eventually and expanding the world as the game progresses. the base game its self is only 40$ dollars and when it is fully released you can play the ork race for free but just the basic classes so it gives you the chance to test the game before you spend money on it and the game will be buy to play so no monthly fees but you can get a subscription if you want to get rouge trader points monthly. their will even be pve elements in the game in the form of the tyranids as an npc faction they will even have dungeons in the game that you and some friends to do. so if you want to wait for the game to get fleshed out more i can fully understand more power to you but as for myself i am ready for my founders access to get a taste of the game the way it is now in ALPHA. so please research the game before you bash it.
I am very very excited for this. I bought a sergeants pack i believe it was like 5 or 6 months ago now and was like "ok where's the play link" I been waiting anxiously ever since lol.

Let me guess you want cinematic realtime real-people looking game that will bog down even the best of elite PC's because your life is bad and you need to escape? Please don't take it out on the Warhammer franchise. It's an amazing franchise.
i know ive been watching this game since it was announced lol i saved up for 6 months and got the xenos pack lol i check the website everyday for the "FOUNDERS ACCESS FINALLY RELEASED!!!!!"
