i been playing since beginning of retail and i must say it is relatively rare to get pked unless your clan is in a war
once in awhile u log in and some bored high level player goes on a killing spree with an alt but at the low levels its so easy to level i think u need the sp (skill points) anyway
the way i handle this situation is i act like this doesnt bother me...and continue playing if i get pked again i simply log off and go to alt in a different starter town...if you complain and moan they will continue to pk you as they enjoy causing grief...if u say nothing they get bored as u will resemble all the other mobs that they are bored of killing
for example if you are playing human u will start in talking island...u should try to find an area away from the main town and roads and then u will be less likely to be attacked...also avoid the temptation to shout as someone can use your name to target your character...usually if someone is killing people u will her people shout "RED" which is the color your character turns when u pk someone unilaterally...if u notice this try stay out of sight and usually u can play unmolested
if u do get pked...just log off and go make a light elf or dark elf or dwarf
after an hour usually the person is gone and u can level the main character again
i guess if you hate being pked under any situation this game isnt for you...but it is a good game

the bi-tch is the dumb ass that picks on noobs instead of people that can fight back...why don't u come to the valley of saints and try this "griefing" u talk about?...killing in a noob town is like a full grown man going to preschool and kicking ass...

As stated, it's not that bad. I've been playing a month, started quite a few characters (figuring out which server/race/class I like) and been PK'd only 3 times. It's not that bad and it keeps you on your toes. I've never fell asleep at the keyboard.
Playing L2 with no PVP is like eatting a salad with no lettuce ... its just wierd.
But ya anyways I think I have only ever been PK'ed by surprise like 4 times in 6 months of playing. Any other PVP or "PK" engagements I've been involved in I knew it was coming, or I started it.
And 2-3 of those I would say I unintentionally brought upon myself with the name "Kainsdoom" on the Kain server ... Nevermind the fact I've used that name for like 15 years, and I created it here without thinking. I noticed many people take it the wrong way, lol. Good thing thats not my main.
