Trion Worlds has taken to the Trove forums to let players know that a new server has been added and that coders have worked through the weekend on optimization to ensure that all players have a smooth, lag-free experience in game.
The queues are not fun, and we're continuing to take action to improve the situation as quickly as possible. With this being a weekend, and many more players available to play for longer periods, we will likely continue to see queues.

My daughter and I had to wait in 30 min queues a couple of times this weekend when trying to play. Once we got in the server performance was pretty good, we did have a little bit of rubberbanding issues though.
It seems many people have discovered what a little gem this game truly is.
I don't wait for games,if a game can't provide the space to play i leave.I am a patient person by nature,i don't honk the horn at traffic i don't try to rush to the front of the line, but it is about principle.I look at it this way....Why bother to run testing phases if your plan all along was to just wait and see on launch day?Example during these testing phases they could have shut down all servers except one and over load it and test it.Instead it just comes across as an early idea to get the cash shop going and is basically what EVERY single developer is doing right now.
Devs like low end graphics because usually you can get away with almost no optimization,i assume they did very little if any prior. The sad reality is they went through this identical pattern with Rift and BOTH games had a long testing phase before hand and they still messed up.
Actually i forgot about their published game Acheage, gamer's had the same problems there ,including people that paid money ...Patrons.So ya this Trion is not operating as a class act but more as a penny pinching operation.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
Awesome for Trove that people have finally discovered this hidden gem. But sad for me... :-(
Really?
*looks at 37 minute queue*
It released on steam.
ahh ok, that makes sense. I haven't been paying much attention to mmos in general recently so was kind of out of the loop.
Something Awful this way comes.
yea, or more capacity to play on, since you don't lock in to a specific server anyway (but EU or US).
but thx for your contribution.

9pm EST.... 1000+ in queue. Awesome. So glad I worked a 14 hour day and come home for a few hours to... still queued.
Update: Since I know you're thrilled with my gripping tale. 13 minutes to get in. Not terrible but already past my bored/moving on phase.
...because they made a game that became even more popular than the company predicted?

Wonder if that Darkfall game has this problem?

I gonna guess the statistical data from total client downloaded vs current server capacity is hard to do. Exactly what happened with AA.
AA didn't lunch with steam on it side, it was on steam but didn't stay for long until later after lunch was back on steam again, but only part here is trove didn't sell founders packs and didn't know how many people will come in, trove been out for over a year and open beta for a few months who knew became this popular this fast.
Even on this forums, trove hated by many here didn't show it would been this big of hit on steam. And AA was more hyped then trove, FF14 new xpack is out, skyforge is out, but rush end up in trove who would of knew this would happen.
It's the new F2P shiny with trinkets on Steam.
Many shiny F2P on Steam:) Trove not only one. Is not that is not wrong to complain about a game for other reason if they knew there going to have mass amout people, the problem here it was not a hyped game on steam. Even here on this forums was not hyped for months or places, it's just people seen it and looks fun to them with out looking like that you need some super pc to play it and it was free.
That was a bit out of left field, or am I missing the reference?

Oh god, I hope not. I wish I could like all these blocky voxel games but I just can't -- I find the graphics very off-putting - my loss I guess.
Maybe it's because I didn't play with Lego as a kid?
