ashkent, do you know a little bit about physics? there is a universal law that says that for every action there is a reaction. now you are getting reactions to your actions...
anyway, i am not a magician or witch or anything. i just knew you probably wouldnt like morrowind, as you probably dont like europa universalis, or football manager. about cheating to complete games... well, that speaks for itself about your urge to win, or to reach your goal even if it is out of game mechanics (and booooooooring from my point of view. what is the goal of playing if you cheat?) ----->instant gratification ------> that is why you dont like eve and morrowind. so it all fits perfectly.
you should know that anything you say or write says a lot of yourself. same with me or anybody else.
Originally posted by spineshank I'm sorry that i couldn't respond to your post right away. Some people have other things to do besides troll a forum 24/7 waiting for someone to reply to their post. I'm also sorry that i assumed that you have only played WoW. I'm sure you can see why i assumed that reading your posts. However the fact that three people have called you out in this topic alone should tell you something. I'm sure you will continue to write your super insightful "this game sucks, go play wow" threads and good for you, it's your right to do so. Just don't be suprised when enough people see how worthless and biased your posts are and call you out on it. Please forgive me for not sitting here and waiting for you to respond to this. As much as i want to sit here refreshing this post, I have plans tonight.
you have other forums to troll? not surprising.
again, i love how you pull all this info about me out of your ass. no i can't see why by my posts since i don't do what you say i do.
i'd love for you to show me a post where i said "this game sucks, go play WoW". i would really, really, really like to see that.
show me one post that is biased. there are plenty of people on this forum who just say X game sucks, don't play it. I don't do that. i wonder how many times i have to tell you to actually read any of my posts before you actually see what i'm saying. if i ever said anything that sounded like a bash against a game, it was because i was mocking the EVE fanboys.
as for 3 people "calling me out on this topic" all i see is 3 morons who can't see past their own little elite world, who can't read, who can't understand sarcasm and can't see when someone is mocking something.
i have yet to see you make a post that wasn't bashing someone, mostly me. i have made many posts helping other members and giving advice, unbiased i might add. i have helped people who want to play many different games, even ones i don't like. so which one of us is actually the troll? so far al the evidence points to you.
oh, and thanks for assuming that i sat here all night waiting for you to respond. you couldn't have been any more wrong.

What everyone means in response to these two posts, Ashkent is that this is evidence that you aren't a true RPG gamer.
If you lack the patience or intelligence to beat or become godly in Morrowin(d) then, that is just sad. Morrowind wasn't designed to be a game that anyone could play (see guild wars) without lifting a finger.
Morrowind set the standard for RPGS in terms of gameplay mechanics and graphics for its time and that bar hasn't been completly surpassed since. Say what you wan't but anything you could say that bashes Morrowind would just make yourself look like an uneducated fool. Since, you never actually beat the game cheating or no, you can't have a fully formed and unbiased opinion. I personally think it's foolish of you to generalize that : "[Morrowind] was such a dissapointing piece of crap" since you obviously lack the play style that is required.

so whats the deal with the only the fanboys of a game allowed to have an opinion on a game? seems to be a lot of that around here. i'm not allowed to have an opinion?
oh no! i don't like a game or haven't finished 1 rpg so that makes me not an rpg gamer...lol. i guess the 50,000 other rpgs i've played and finished in my lifetime mean nothing? i love how everyone on here is some kind of expert on someone based on a few games they mentioned they played. its really amazing, wait, no its not, because its not anywhere near the truth!
no, i don't lack the patience or intelligence (here we go again, you must be one of those EVE fanboys who thinks that the game you play makes you better than everyone else) to play morrowind. i didn't like the game. so i actually have to beat a game to have any kind of input on what i thought about it? thats the biggest load of BS i have ever heard. i played enough of it to know that i didn't like it. thats as far as i need to go into the game to make an opinion on it.
so now you can all stop bashing and insulting me for no reason, because its getting old. or at least let me know when you can say something about me that is actually TRUTHFUL and not pulled out of your ass.
I hate to post (slightly) more on topic, but I too have no intention of buying a 360. It's only 10% or so backwords compatible, and I prefer my library of X-box 1 games overall to what I see coming out for the 360 in the next year (and there is no way in hades I'm going to have two X-boxes hooked up to my TV...it just seems . . .wrong). There is only one game I know of coming out for it that I car about and I can't play on my PC, so it seems like it would be a waste . . .even if it means I'll have to play ES IV from a chair instead of my couch
I don't want to write this, and you don't want to read it. But now it's too late for both of us.
Alright, for some personal reasons i need to escape the mmorpg scene for a little bit. After reading this thread i have become interested in the series. So i have a few questions
1- What systems do the elder scroll games come on? Can i get them all on pc?
2- the story is important, so would it be logical/possible for me to just get oblivion and start into that? or should i get some of the earlier ones to "catch up"?
3- I will not be getting an xbox 360
4- Thank you in advance
i realize i could answer these myself, but i need to get back in the community iv been gone for a while

The elder scrolls games come in a few variations for older systems. The only one you NEED to play is morrowind. Allthough with each morrowind game it takes place in a different portion of the Elder Scrolls world (Tam'Riel.)
So, its like FF in the sense that it starts new with every new game. There will be MORE content probably for the PC version, since the Elder Scrolls construction set will be included with the PC version, and i'm not sure if Xbox360 bois will get it. the TES, once mastered is a godly tool. Morrowind is like 30 bucks with the bundle that includes all of the expansions. However, be forewarned try to avoid the "bloodmoon" expansion, it's crap.

yes, you can get them all on pc. the story isnt important because each game of elder scrolls is set in a different place altogether. no visiting the world you experienced in a different game. so you dont need to play any other ones but i'd play morrowind because i think itd provide some good knowledge for the whole concept. if you played morrowind you wouldnt have to spend your time in oblivion making all the mistakes that everyone makes and could more effectively enjoy the brilliance of it. of course if you play morrowind oblivion will seem all the more amazing, but dont get oblivion before morrowind if you do get morrowind otherwise you'll end up ignoring morrowind and if you try and play you'll be too used to oblivions awsomeness.
i neither will be getting a 360, for i do not wish of it nor do i have the money even if i did. if i did, id have to spend even more money getting all the games i wanted. im completely satisfied with pc. however, i am curious as to how tes would turn out on a platform other than pc, what with the restricted variation of buttons and all.
im only level 24 or so in morrowind so dont listen to carefully to what ive said. im basically just backing up what patriarch said anyway. this is my first post and only my second board ive ever visited, so make sure you dont listen to me...?
anyway, thats my 2 cents..

A construction set - the pc version has a construction set which provides the ability to mod the game easily. This was great with Morrowind and whoever did not buy it as pc version did miss a big part of the Morrowind experience.
With Oblivion there will be also a construction set AFAIK.
Originally posted by sidebuster This is the game of games I am also waiting for. It is the reason I build my computer. It wont be that good probably, but at least iam not an idiot who is gonna get it on the 360. I will be rewarded with patches and mods on the pc version
wholly hell, did i really say that? lol. It is funny to look back and old posts and think wtf to yourself.
I have my Special Edition pre-ordered, and I'm ready to rock it. Xbox.com has recently updated the release date to 3-20-06. It might not be completely accurate, but I'd say it's pretty close. They are starting to release more info on it now, so it's right around the corner.

I'm pretty hyped abou this game. Don't have the cash to buy a new one right now but I will likely get it since Morrowind was such a smash hit.
