Need A Sci-FI RPG-FPS..got an itch to scratch

RHeinlineRHeinline Member Posts: 2

Basically I want to run around in a graphically pleasing world with many and varied loot drops blowing the heck out of mobs with a plasma rifle or whatever wonderful piece of technology decides to erupt from the lifeless body of the alien I just terminated.

Help please...give me my starship trooper!!!!!

I really enjoyed "Wolfenstein The New Order" kind of a what if the Nazis won WW2  (single player only though)

Borderlands 1 and 2  is a comic book kind of scifi RPG/FPS where the multiplayer really shines.

    Hope you find your game

Ok, Edge seems to have some problems :)

Defiance is quite good. Destiny is really good if you like lobby games.

    Fallout is post apocalyptic

I liked deus ex Human Revolution...great visuals...loot...things ti kill and make go boom..buts its futuristic/cybernetic/stuff and not really alien

right now I got KOTOR 2 The Sith Lords with the new mod pack that gives the original game back its lost content...I may mod it a bit more but just want to add new areas and not cosmetic crap

If you want a MMO go with Defiance.  Single-player has been covered.

“It's unwise to pay too much, but it's worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money - that's all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot - it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.”

Give Firefall a look see. It's a fun MMO that I like to play.

Have you played X-com: Enemy Unknown (and Enemy Within) yet?

It's a tactical RPG where you command an elite unit tasked with defending the Earth from alien invaders. A most excellent game (with plenty of plasma rifles and detailed high tech gear). It's not an FPS though.

X-Com 2 is being released later this year as well.

My SWTOR referral link for those wanting to give the game a try. (Newbies get a welcome package while returning players get a few account upgrades to help with their preferred status.)

    +1 Boarderlands 2.

Boarderlands 2 you run around, level up, shoot things, play with up to 4 other people, grab loot that gets dropped.  Fun, addictive game.

FYI, the full backage, all dlc for boarderlands 2 is on sale on steam for 8 bucks and some change...well worth the purchase.

I recently started playing Hellgate and I have to admit I am really enjoying the gameplay. It is a game on life support from poor management, but the game itself is actually rather fun in terms of gameplay. And the setting is very much along the lines of a post apocalyptic future, but with magic, demons, undead, as well as technology and all kinds of cool guns that you can modify. You can play it like a shooter(even though its more typically a 3rd person shooter) with a targeting reticle. They even have a marksman class.

I'm currently loving it because they have a summoner class that can actually summon a lot of mobs simultaneously rather than just 1 or 2 at once, or with limited timers. It's like playing a Diablo 2 necromancer, but in a 3rd person perspective game. It's a bit old(2007ish) and the graphics aren't the greatest by todays standards, but they aren't that bad either. It's F2P and might be worth trying out for what your looking for.
