Takes about 10-15hrs game play to unlock that class if you start from Paladin. Every bit you advance your other classes only makes your Berserker more powerful. I kinda wish they let you pick one class but after reading the devs reasons on making you earn the others I see what they were trying to do.
You cant buy a pack with Berserker anymore, but i think they will sell other packs besides the one with knight and alchemist and eventually we will be able to buy other classes.
Its a way for Allods to make easy money and for a F2P title they have to make it somewhere.
This the best game ever.
We all scream we want games to do things different and when they do we cry about it. Play the game or dont. I am sure in a few months you can play this F2P game and just buy the unlock for a small fee. Seems to be where they are going. So wait or play now and get what you want sooner. Like you were told, its not like playing another class to unlock the game is taking away from advancing the char you want. Its all time played and advanced in this game.
are you an allods employee? youre defending this mediocrity to the bones. i mean cmon man, its not something to be so invested in. as soon as the free premium packs that everybody got run out people are gonna leave, theres just no charm to this game. also, you have to admit: the game is unplayable without premium. without the 50% more sparks the grind wouldve been unbearable
but he just said he does not like any of the 3 starting classes and i agree. theyre bland and theyre purposefully made unoriginal so the other classes look better in comparison. in a few month blade and soul or even black desert will have arrieved. do you think skyforge has any chance against those two?
We want games to do different things that are actually enjoyable. Playing a class you don't enjoy for 15+ hours in order to get to one you do enjoy is bad game design. Kudos to them for trying something different. Sucks to be them though because this was a bad idea.

I love my Pally and it is far from bland, it has as much depth and power as any off the classes. My wife is playing the Lightbinder I think its called and she loves the depth of the class. I have been MMOing for 17 years and if my Pally is bland, I want to see more MMOs make classes as bland as this.
I'm glad you love your pally. However, in every thread about this game people make the exact same complaints. Clearly the system is not working for everyone. Maybe not for most people based on the review and feedback available on this site.

SF has room for improvement but the foundation is rock solid.
Pretty big difference from "doing this differently" and FORCING YOU TO PLAY A CLASS YOU MIGHT NOT ENJOY AT ALL just to unlock another class you beleive you will like.
This is also why i don't play skyforge. I want to play a necromancer but i am not interested in 20+ hours of a class i have ZERO interest in just to get access to the class i do want. It was a terrible design choice and the developers did not rationalize it to make sense.
what they should have done is let you atleast pick 1 class you wanted to start with them swap out so the others required unlocking if you chose to.
You might be okay with it but many are not, and it was a very poor choice to design a game like that.
played for a bit seemed pretty bland....i killed dude yawn, mechanical butterflies and plants....yawn yawn and yawn. Also every bit of content i have viewed via youtube was more of that same thing. Maybe there is more but having to play 20 hours on a class i have zero interest in just to maybe see something interesting is well ill pass.
Not to be rude, but kind of glad you won't be playing. Only playing one class would make you the most gimp character in all of Skyforge. I hope you do find something you enjoy playing though.
In War - Victory.
In Peace - Vigilance.
In Death - Sacrifice.
True, mostly because the balance is beyond terrible and resembles something out of an alpha version of a game. The raids pretty much only allow two of nine dps classes. PVP is all mostly one class. (I'm talking about the Russian version, which is more developed and people are higher prestige).
And for those saying 15 hours to unlock advanced classes, wrong. It takes a mininum of 3 weeks because of how weekly resource caps work. For some it even takes 4 weeks since you need even more resources to have skills opened. Good luck grinding as a mind numbingly boring starter class for a month.
LOL what grind? You reach the spark limit in one-two days.
I think Skyforge challenges the thought of "what is grinding?".
In a game with virtually no story (or a crap story that is side content at least :P), what constitutes gameplay content?
- PvP is non-grindy, you are matched up against people at similar Prestige levels
- group PvE is what it is. You unlock all the maps after about 1-2 months of casual gameplay anyway. So the usual "OMG must rush to END GAME" is 100% non-existent. You have near limitless Prestige, but you unlock all maps by 50k or such.
For me, I don't see the pull of MMOs outside of PvP and Group PvE. They can be grindy when you need to farm for gear or "points", but Skyforge has neither. Well, fine the Gear grind is present, but the new patch makes it much faster.
Not defending the fact that you need to run the exact same dungeon again and again largely...I still can't agree with that, but I don't think "grindy" is what I'd normally describe Skyforge as being. Maybe "repetitive".
Our pantheon is really enjoying the game thus far. Everybody has a class that they love playing and we all enjoy playing in small groups. The upcoming content is only going to make things better.
As we progress in prestige more areas open up and any of us can spend a whole day without repeating an instance. One of the good results of repeating certain areas often is that people learn how the mobs and bosses operate. The result is that this game has given me some of the best PUG experiences I've ever encountered. Sure PUG's are never as good as guild groups, but in a pinch they are often necessary, especially for solo inclined players. Out of 50 or so PUG groups thus far I've only encountered one that broke up because of giving up. The rest either went smoothly or people were patient throughout several wipes because we were aware that everybody is still learning. A credit to a great community.
There is a main storyline(white objectives), side storylines(yellow objectives) that are presented through the argus system, a bit of a zone situation story in each zone(pink zone quests) and some little story elements in each adventure. You can easily ignore the storyline but it is there and it explains a lot about the world.
