You should choose your race based on its lore, what it means! I am sick of Nords and Argonians trying to tryhard in our Great House. I am open to options, but too much is too much. The idea that we got paired with Nords and Argonians is...is too much! We should've been paired with our mer kin. Or not paired at all!
You should not choose your race, however, on some tiny bonus. Oh right! MIN MAX! ...
The funny thing is that a 5% difference applies to the worst button pusher just as well as to the most anal spreadsheet obsessed min maxer.

Yeah, I just started playing recently and wanted to know what addons and/or site anyone might recommend.
ESOUI is THE site for addons. First thing you should do is download their slick addon manager, Minion, and set it up. Then just browse through the popular ones and try whichever you want. You can always delete them from Minion if you don't want them and that will uninstall them from the game.
Once you have Minion set-up pointing to the right directory, it'll download and add whatever addons you want. Just make sure neither the launcher or the game are running when you do that - the addons get loaded when you start the launcher. Then just run Minion every few days to auto-update any addons that may have changed.

Indeed it does. If you ask me, races should just define the starting point-something like TES originally did or how PoE delineated their classes. But that's just imo. What do I know?
I think the disparity between races is a problem. The fact that some are shit while others are prefectly refined for their role, and (apparently) becoming more-so.
