How is it possible to be able to tell a mob's level or another player's level without attacking? Pointing at them just yields what they are and not their level???? Thanks for any help...
Target them (Tab cycles the targets without attacking, Backslash selects closest target). You target indicator should tell you the level and the type of monster or character.
Thanks, being a noob coming over from WoW the included documentation with GW is so very weak on specifics of game play. Going to spend some time with the on-line manual and hope that helps clear up a lot of my noobness!
Here is some quick tips. X makes you spin. Press H for attributes points, the fewer areas you spread your points the stronger you'll be. Later into the game, items will be associalted with attribute points, higher the points, mote the item or skill does dmg or function wise. Always carry a ressurection spell sucha s the ressurection signet unless you know what you're doing. Henchmen are good, but people are better, and jerks. Your choice. Dye can be put on armor and items, it can also be mixed. Black and Silver are rare. AoE spells make monsters run away and come back. Staffs, hammers and daggers need 2 hands, rest are split into 2 pieces. You can only ahve 1 "stance:" running at a time. Spirits effect all creatures of the same type no matter what side. Give lots of flowers to gwen, maybe she will give you something. Learn the pre-searing area well, very well. No, there is no jumping. Dont make a PvP char till you're 150 hours in, a good rule of thumb but not needed. You can play with friends in other countries through the internation districts. Salvage kits turn items into the materials to make them, Expert Kits do as well but can pull magic items and conponents from items such as runes and weapon upgrades (look for the blue, purple or gold colours). When you unlock a skill or find a new rune or weapon item (use the identification kit on items), its unlocked forever on your account for use with PvP chars. Dying on purpose has its uses .
And remember, this is skill based no item based so dont freak on low numbers on items. Keep playing one day itll click and you'll get it
Handy skills to know:
Troll Ungent - Ranger - Best sel healing skill, full stop. Armor Of Earth - Elementalist - Makes you harder, tho a little slower Conjure Phantasm - Mesmer - SImple hex, cheap and kills quickly. "I Will Survive" - Warrior - Often not used, but has the ability to turn negative conditions into health generation. Life Syphon - Necromancer - Like Conjure, but the health lost on the enemy is given to you. Balthizars Spirit - Monk - Each hit gives you 1+ energy and n+ adrenaline (what warriors use for weapons)
So, a warrior ranger could be all warriors defense and the healing of the ranger, or an elementalist could be strong as steone and get energy every time they attack. See the combos piling up?
