Stuff like this is just software developers trying to sell their product.Nobody is going to use this in gaming.I don't know who would buy or use this tech.

BTW i have already seen a few years ago Unreal technology "unreal game engine" with the ability to create huge polygonal applications but NOBODY is doing it.

I will once again point out that developers are making the absolute lowest cost games they can make and get away with, they are after profits and cheap gimmicks not realism and great games.

Now in saying that, there is a possibility of a  developer out there somewhere that sees a huge cash shop that might go after a more photo realistic look.I have already seen such a game,it was posted here on this site,a developer that is using the same tech team as Star Citizen, they are trying to create a cash shop game around selling photo realistic housing.

However that points back to what i said earlier "gimmicks",i don't care how many lame gimmicks a developer comes up ,i am not stupid enough to buy into those cash shops,i am looking for a great game to go along with nice tech/physics/graphics,one idea alone does not make a triple A game.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

according to some people the future of graphics is exemplified by any Disney animated movie from the 90's
MMORPG players are often like Hobbits: They don't like Adventures

lol. I don't see this happening any time soon. The reason is because they are trying to make most games compatible with tech that's generations old. As long as they are doing that, we are trapped. And frankly, they need to stop worrying about graphics so much and start worrying about game play. Ten year old games are great because of the game play, not because of the graphics. KOTOR, KOTOR2, and Bloodlines are still much loved and still get alot of replay because of the worlds they created and the great game play. The graphics are crap.

I think the game developers are counting on this and use it to their advantage to produce games with neither gameplay nor graphics. Gameplay is avoided because new = simple. Graphics are avoided because of money and time, and justified the same way. My favorite is the argument that shit graphics hold up better over time.

This paragon game that shall last the ages shall not need a graphics update, for it will always be stupid looking.

Well, I could see it in certain types of single player games, like detective stories and anything else focused on emotions, manipulation and similar. Whenever the player needs to figure out peoples real emotions and see if they are lying.

For MMOs there are way better things you could do. For example you could add seasons to the game, having the leaves fall of the trees, let the snow snowly melt as such, that would add more to the game than this. And the technology to do this were included in Direct X 11 already.

A MMO is a lot about making a living world, in many cases far so more than picturing the people who live in it. You could use it well in cut scenes though.
