Funcom, in the midst of financial distress, has announced a new single-player horror game called The Park. According to the announcement, The Park will be out in October of this year. The Park is an adventure in a new genre with Funcom having been focused on MMOs for years.

    Looks like something to check out. Nice job keeping this one a secret I guess....first time I've ever heard of it.

    So they took the Secret World Amusement Park area and made it into a single player game. Smart, as it was one of the better if not best secret world zones. Not particularly excited about it but i will give it a try eventually.

    hehe, TSW has the most amazing 'park' one of the most memorable things in the game= happy they have expanded on it! -although somehow this should go mobile.

    Not just the park layout and design, it's the very same park Winter built :awesome:
    "'The Park' is actually the outcome of what started with a small group of developers experimenting with new concepts and looking at how we could draw upon the universes we have built for our massively multiplayer online games and expand upon them into smaller-scale single-player games. Something special started to take shape, and 'The Park' ultimately became something we are eager to share with the rest of the world."

    Could serve as a nice entry into the game / world for those who are not familiar with it. For those who know the story, it's still nice to get some background, and re-live the happenings in first person :wink:

    The story aspect of TSW was really top-notch in the mmorpg world. This might be fun.

    Making a single player game for them again makes sense, far less development cost, close to zero maintanence (maybe a few patches to fix bugs) and acceptable income if people like it. It is a good way to get in some money without risking everything.

    look like they are doing "nightmare circus" remake.

    The amusement park was my favorite part of the game. I think ill check it out....after a few days of letting some reviews/comments come in.
