Ultima Online pre trammel with new graphics. That is the only game I would like to play
Maybe its the care bear in me but I just did not find getting slaughtered constantly fun.....I mean you couldn't even leave Brittain without higher skilled players grouping and killing every noob within a hundred miles....I'm sorry that is the last game I would play.
Easy. Vanguard. The best game that nobody played. One thing I would change would be to add to development time before it was released. That game had so much potential, and to me, would have been by far the best MMO to date.
I'd bring back whatever would make the most money, the one aspect I would change is that all payments go into my bank account.
Yes I am joking - but it's hard to take this post seriously - any powerful organization would laugh at the thought of spending money on a failed game project.
You mean like Square Enix?
Anyways my mentions are CoX (City of Heroes/Villians) and Tabula Rasa, both with updated graphics.
Vanguard - with a studio behind it that actually gave it support. Instead of buying it when it was in trouble, and then putting it on a shelf and letting it rot.
Warhammer with 3 factions (I've never played the desktop game but I think orcs & goblins were separate faction from Chaos?).
Tabula Rasa also. Liked the beta but for some reason didn't play the game when it went live (can't recall why sorry). There needs to be more Sci-Fi MMOs imho.
Kyleran: "Now there's the real trick, learning to accept and enjoy a game for what
it offers rather than pass on what might be a great playing experience
because it lacks a few features you prefer."
John Henry Newman: "A man would do nothing if he waited until he could do it so well that no one could find fault."
FreddyNoNose: "A good game needs no defense; a bad game has no defense." "Easily digested content is just as easily forgotten."
LacedOpium: "So the question that begs to be asked is, if you are not interested in
the game mechanics that define the MMORPG genre, then why are you
playing an MMORPG?"
Archeage NA Alpha - before the cash shop was added! (and of course pre-cu SWG!)
AA is not eligible according to OPs rules.
So much for not taking it seriously.......lol.
Bring Trion or AA in it and it's on! So funny.
Hey guys, just wanted to say, what I posted is simply a guideline, its ok to make suggestions contrary to what I posted in the rules, its really just there to exemplify the idea that these games we used to love could be brought back and changed and maybe stand a chance in the modern MMO market.
So far the two most common games I have seen are SWG and COH. Im dissapointed about SWG because no one suggested the one change I would make:
If Iwas to bring it back as it was when it closed, and could change only one thing about it, it would be to add a proper Free To Play model (selling exp/renown boosts and cosmetics) instead of the lame 1-15 endless trial Mythic had.
The obvious, SWG and never put out NGE or Jedi in any shape or form.
But I would say Fallen Earth and make it so you can't be an Omni-crafter. Part of what killed that game imho is that no one had to communicate or trade with anyone else for anything. In a post-apoc setting it would have been great to have been somewhat forced to interact and be dependent on each other.
Warhammer, I would finish all of the missing content and then look to get a 3rd faction into the game. at least there is the WAR emulator up and running if u know where to look
ok i will resurrect City of Heroes , because it was awesome.
Change : update graphics , CoH with UE4 ?

Any mmo worth its salt should be like a good prostitute when it comes to its game world- One hell of a faker, and a damn good shaker!

1 change: they pay me $1,000,000.00 for every hour I play it.

EWOKS AS A PLAYABLE RACE!

I'd bring back Hellgate: London.
Change one thing: Everything.
(Seriously, no, don't. Please?)
That being said, Give me a rebooted Vanguard, just increase the performance
I had fun once, it was terrible.
Things to change: get it done.

So many great choices. SWG, Vanguard, Warhammer and Ultima Online 2.
though I would really have to go with World of Darkness.
I'd have done anything to see this game and the finished product. Vigil games was fantastic as was THQ. I'm still sad that they're gone.
New graphic engine.
