Looks like this is included for any Pledge package that had Physical Collectors Edition included. Not bad for those. Don't think I would pay $150 just for it though, but not bad for those getting it as part of the package

I used to be that guy that had to purchase the CE for the few minor rewards. But Neverwinter was the last one for me. With the hype for games luring us in these CE are costing more and more and then the games fizzle out rather quickly. I do think the miniatures are a great addition.

Their just milking it for everything they can get. Pretty standard in the gaming industry.

Game looked interesting and promising. The CE is kind of cool. ....but it digged a grave yet into the P2W whaling scenario that many other KS-backed MMO projects have done. Selling HUGE advantages in housing, guild halls, and so on by the $100's of dollars on their site. Want to build a big castle? Forget about earning it through trials and adventures over many, many months when you can pay an easy $500 for it! Who wouldn't want to do that?! Seriously seems like they took and ripped off the store from Shroud of the Avatar with their offerings. Can't wait to see what "digital items" comes in their other store section 'coming soon'. What a ludicrous system. "How is it Pay-2-Win to gain housing and such? That's not power and they're not selling weapons. You can earn that stuff in-game anyways." Do you critics with this rhetoric not get the original premise of this game (or other similar ones)? The game was proposed as going into temporary campaigns that eventually hit an end-game point of completion while your character progress carries on as well as your lands in the boarder area of the solar system it is within. But the gaining of materials within the campaigns is to expand your own area by building houses, keeps, castles, and so on. That is the objective. It is not about obtaining more items or power, seeing as how some campaigns have it where you cannot bring outside things into the campaign to start and thus start off as a naked newb. The primary purpose is defeating the creatures of the coming Winter and win a campaign to get some sweet loots for your home, castle, keep, whatever. But their set up of selling these things bypasses the point of the game and makes it completely pay-2-win!

My objective is not to play house and have a pretty EK. If someone wants to spend thousands of dollars to buy castles and cosmetic stuff that doesn't impact me at all, good for them. Feed the meter because I don't plan to spend much after launch.

If someone's objective is to feed their ego by having giant castles to show off to the world that they "earned" by sinking countless hours into a game, ya I guess the system doesn't work in their favor, but oh well. Ego filled fashion shows are not my concern.

For someone like me that wants to play in The Dregs with nothing in and most likely little to nothing out, I'll be just fine. People can pay to "win" all they want, but to me all they do is cheat themselves out of the real experience.

Sounds like you just mad that some folks are willing to shell out cash for pointless stuff that you put value on. Is what it is.

No digital deluxe? There are countries where shipping those items will cost more than the CE...

After reading what the poster above mentioned about housing being sold I checked out the store on their site and was truly shocked at what I saw. Just my opinion but that looks like a SoTA cash grab and they are selling mounts as well.. I don't know when it became acceptable in this genre to sell content like that for a game that's not even out yet but I'm guessing Star Citizen was probably the reason. The excuse can be made that it will be a FTP game and they have to make money somehow but the cheapest house is 30USD and castles cost HUNDREDS. In my eyes that is a bit much and they also sell VIP membership. Maybe in today's market gaming companies have to go to that extreme to stay afloat with all the options out there. I will still try it when it comes out as a ftp player because I've been looking forward to playing it and like the art style.

It won't be f2p, it will be buy2play, buy once and play as long as the game is up.
And here is a good response for your housing dilemma :

Game looked like a cash grab 6 months ago, and it looks like a cash grab now. Enjoy!

The difference is that housing and location means a LOT in SotA whereas housing in Crowfall is not a big deal.

    Research is good!

Telling someone to research something when you clearly haven't is a kind of oxymoronic. Eternal Kingdoms is the housing section of Crowfall and IS that big of a deal. The whole point of the game is to go into a campaign with little to nothing and come out of it on the end with resources to take back to your Eternal Kingdom. Be it a Guild based one or a solo one, it is still a matter that the game's housing is goal of the looting system and why they're using the Voxelfarm engine.

It is really sad to see that this is the state of gaming these days. High priced founders packs, collectors editions, kickstarter rewards. I really hate crowdfunding and I hope it is a trend that will end in the years to come as more and more of these projects crash and burn. I want this game to do well based on the concepts and ideas they have, but I despise the business model and crowdfunding. It does not make sense to charge people 500$ for a pixel house in a game that doesn't even exist and quite possibly never will or might fail horribly. A fool and his money as soon parted I guess. I know many of those fanboys who bought pictures of space ships for 250$ are not too happy right now. Make a great game and I'll be happy to support it, but show me the game first before you expect me to hand over a big chunk of cash.

Come pay for my half finished game.  No thanks.  Oh and by the way if you want to see how real pvp works, go check out Camelot Unchained, not this pathetic joke you are attempting to call pvp.

They are both half finished games...

Personally I see no need to choose sides.  Let them all develop and produce a game.  If what they produce is FUN, I will play.  I see no need to champion a game before it's even out.

I'm a Sapphire Backer, and I have been following the game very closely. The most succinct description comes from zinnie, a frequent poster on the forums:

"ACE have stated several times, that the Campaigns is the main game, but EK will be sort of a player hub where people/guilds can meet up in between every campaign. The importance of EK will be up to each and every player themselves."

Everything you need for the campaign you can gather and create in the campaign. It is rare that you will be bringing much of anything to a campaign with you. Even guild management will be separate from the EKs so as to not make them necessary or important to gameplay (source).

"The whole point of the game is to go into a campaign with little to nothing and come out of it on the end with resources to take back to your Eternal Kingdom."

That has never been the case. Can you link to what you read that made you think that?

If you guys have played games like Dragon Nest or C9, you would have understood better as to what Eternal Kingdom is. The campaign are huge instances created by random world generator for a period of time, these campaigns are like dungeons for games like Dragon Nest and EK is like the city Saint's Heaven with a bit more bang to it, like housing. Now understand this, even though the basic idea is similar bot EK and campaigns will be marginally  way too much bigger than any hub or dungeon in Dragon Nest or C9. If someone wants to spend a thousand $ to buy himself castle in EK, what's the big deal? Make money from campaign, take your time buying housing stuff and build your own castle. It is simple, why do people have to have everything on the day of game launch?

I just stopped by their forums and they are stating that (for the Kickstarter folks that had this included) this Collector's Edition grants a SECOND full account as well as the 3 additional months of VIP subscription.   For KS backers that had this... that seems like a pretty sweeeeeeet deal!

It IS a big deal to you apparently, but it is not THE point to the game.

You can make it a big deal, just like you can make collecting every mount in WoW a big deal.

They could completely remove the EKs from the game and still have the POINT. Realize that your goals aren't those of others.

The EKs while some what useful are basically their way of making money off a B2P game that most likely won't have tons of silly hats and other cosmetic fluff that fund games these days.

I'll take joe gamer buying a castle for $200 in his own little instance if that means I don't have to see panda hats and other silly things on the people I'm chasing down.
