Hey hey hey,
A couple of my freinds recently introduced me to a text based MMORPG called "Hollow". Its not in the game list on this site, and the comunity is fairly small, unlike other games such as WOW or GW. However, it's very interesting and more uniqe than most of the other games out there. It puts more of an emphasis on the RPG element and less on just leveling up your charicter, although it does have a combat system, OK PvP, and numerous ways to increse your stats, for those who like to build their charicter. one of the most interesting parts of this game, in my oppinion, is that players have the abillity to create a biography for their charicter, including descriptions of the charicters phisical fetures, a life's story or back ground, pictures of what your charicter looks like, and anything else you can think of!

Okay, it's a MUD. Already I'm skeptical. Oh look... It has an absurd number of races (20!). Oh look, it has classes.

When it comes to MUDs, I'd say God Wars was one of the more original ones out there. The original God Wars. The "classes" made sense and were pretty unique (Demons could turn into a uber-sword of doom and be used by other players, vampires could turn mask themselves as other people and cause general confusion, ect...). Then everyone thought they could run a God Wars MUD and there were hundreds of MUDs identical to each other. The ones that tried to differentiate themselves from the rest added 50 million classes that all followed the basic system that generally revolved around executing boring combos. None of them got rid of the grind of the original GW mud.
