Player housing in Shards Online is unique for many reasons. The biggest reason is because your house and the decorations/furniture/trophies you put inside it are more real than in other MMOs. Everything you find or create as you explore the worlds of Shards Online can be used to decorate your home, inside and out, to make it stand out.

    I keep forgetting about this game but it has the look and feel of a game I've been wanting to play for a long time. Bill Murphy did you ever make your own shard?

    Shard will be as big as you want upon beta/release. Considering you can link shards together in to a 'cluster' of just about any size, you will also be able to make your own maps and items.

    My dilemma with housing is that I want to be able to do more things than just decorate or tend to land. I want to be able to invite friends over to play mini games on a Sunday night for instance play Poker (could be with shard themed cards) and bet our real currency in order to make some extra cash. Maybe other table top games like 4 man Dominos (being dominican) this is a traditional pass time game 2 man teams for fun or placing bets and then things like monopoly, chess, darts, I don't know but poker is my preferred game.

    Vanguard SoH had a great housing/decoration system imo. Though they never got it to the point of allowing for player made towns like they said there would be, was still a great system.

    Since you will be able to mod anything in the game, you could easily make house mods and just have a table top Shard. Where everyone comes over to your house and plays tabletop games and drinks beer.
