FFXI: Vana'Diel Collection Help

in Final Fantasy XI

XI Vana'Diel Collection
And
When I put the disk in it doesn't read it
So I do the whole control panel thing.
But when I do that an error message comes up that says:
This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package.

I'm not sure what it means.

Help please?

My friend has the same problem with the one he just bought,
And I have the DVD drive, so sofar we haven't come to any good conclusions.
I'm avoiding Tech-Support. >.>

    Neither my husband or I had any problems with our copy of the game. I know tech support is a huge pain in the butt, but that may be your best bet.

    You could also try a few different forums (ffxi.somepage.com is one) to see if you get more responses.

    Not only is the support staff completely useless, they are also more attitude than I have ever encountered before.  I just purchased the Vana'Diel Collection 2 days ago.  I spent the majority of the first day, just trying to configure my router so that I could play, and now they are telling me that they are having login difficulties.  Going to cancel my subscription and say to hell with Final Fantasy in general.  Good luck with your installation issues.image
