Oh look guys it is archeage 2 with more p2w shop!!
uhh archeage released like 2 years late in the u.s., so it didnt look that new when we got it. this looks a bit more shiny than archeage.

I'll be keeping an eye on this. I am very much against playing an MMO with traditional leveling. But if you can go from 1-50 in 20 hours I might have overlooked that. Also we'll have to see what a sub-only server looks like in concept with regard to any extra cash shop items that are offered.
I actually uninstalled it because the game version is very old in comparison to Korean and servers, for me, were pretty laggy. Had to open PayPal dispute to get my money back, as the company has "all purchases are final" policy.
Cheers.
Another F2P nonsense. Nothing is free in live! Kills each and every game with a lot of potential. Archage is the proof. Good game but pots and paytowin kill any game for me.
Make it a game with a subscription model (without a cash shop) and I`m in.

QFT get rid of this p2w nonsense where you cater a whole game to a very small group of people (whales). Archeage was FANTASTIC except for the reasons above.
But with all these sheep in this thread alone there's not much hope we will see anything else in the next couple of years.
I've noticed a few comments complaining that BDO will be P2W. Perhaps reading the whole article would have alleviated that concern seeing as BDO is actually creating subscription only servers, not just F2P. That is something every competitive MMO should offer *cough* ArcheAge *cough*.
Aside from that, BDO is more of a sandbox than most games. It's not a sandbox, but its a very open world with a ton of features, just like AA. As for the features not in at launch. That doesn't necessarily mean they won't get implemented.
If the game offers subscription only server's without a cash shop that sell potions etc.(preferably no cash shop at all) I might actually give the game a try.

Russian created a model of what you might be looking for: Their P2P server is excually a B2P server until OBT begins in October. You pay once ( Befor OBT begins ), an you get unlimited access to P2P server with a full Subsciption bonuses. On this server an NPC Store will sell cash shop items for in-game currency. And a Cash Shop on this server, will only have Cosmetic copies of Item that are already in the NPC Store. ( f.ex: different types of Cats, but they will all have same stats as the NPC Store cats). Cash Shop on this server won't be selling potions.
Player joining this server after ÓBT begins will have to pay the usual Subsciption fee.
Archeage with a different skin and slightly newer graphics.
By the time it releases in the west there will be a dozen other games on the way to save us from it. So the cycle will continue.
As for the subscription server I heard it will have a cash shop as well. But it might not even be a sub server. Could be buy to play. Which is really confusing. F2P server gets to buy potions? B2P server doesnt?
Regardless there will be ample ways for them to separate people from their money no matter what model they institute.
One of the biggest, if not the biggest, change has been done to crafting system and the Energy Points, which are used literally for everything in Black Desert. Players have been worrying that this is where Pay-to-Win mechanic will make its way into the game, as by calculations, crafting now seems to be next to pointless unless you buy Energy Potions from the shop. The Russian publisher currently is in discussions with the developers about the feasibility of this innovation, as it is obvious it would slow craft greatly.
The new crafting system was applied by the Korean developers at the last second (the patch was said to be introduced on September 14th with CBT starting on the 15th) to gather data from this CBT how it would affect the process of crafting in the game in general and whether or not it would balance the in-game economy, loot, etc. At the end of the CBT the feedback will be gathered and sent to the developers.
Users have also reported that Energy Points do not seem to restore while offline as they do in the Japanese version and have wondered if this was a planned feature or not. The CMs have been vague in their answers, saying only they will check with developers. If anything, changing the system back to what it was before the patch would not take much time and should not affect the date of the OBT.
Energy points? That doesn't bode well... too much ArcheAge flashbacks for my taste.
AA had a similar system and I hated it to bits because its a huge impediment on your progress if you want to deliver goods, farming, collecting or crafting. Rather than doing whatever you want, whenever you want, like in most MMOs, you basically have a limited number of things you can do before you run out of EP... then you have to wait 6-12 hours before they replenish again. Facebook uses a similar system in most of its games and its a true pain in the a**.
I sincerely hope the western devs remove the EP completely. There's other alternatives if you want money from the people.

We are going to have to act, if we want to live in a different world.

Hackers, cheaters, exploiters everywhere. The scum of the earth has had years of testing their crap on this game before it even touches our hands.
Then combine that with F2P and no region block and you have a recipe for another Archeage.
