When are they going to fix the Secure Connection Failed login problem since, well, since it first started?

I thought that Carbine set up their "megaservers" to prevent exactly this?

For sure, If they didn't think this mass amount people would rush in like this so was no point adding more server. Or they knew but as knew going die down at some point just cost more money adding server when people end up leaving after a week or 2. Only sucks the people who was playing befor this mass amount people to get in but they may enjoy amount people coming back to the game.

I mean, you can always chose a less populated server... oh wait.

I manged to get in, made a stalker, got to 14 almost 15, realized that nothing has changed and the game still has an extremely stagnant leveling system, logged off. When does this game become fun?
Honestly it might not be the game for you. It was not the game for me initially. I leveled an engineer to 16 and then stopped, then leveled a spell slinger to 23 then stopped and didn't come back until about a month or so ago. I was dabbling on the engineer and just leveled here and there and around level 25+ is when it just hooked me. I just got it after that and just today dinged 50. Thanks a lot in part to the 25% experience boost, but I was level 47 before the F2P conversion hit. Around 25 you just start to level faster and if you do only the regional/zone/world quests you level so much faster. Then I started getting into the story. There was an addon that helped you skip the story but then I picked up tidbits here and there from the books and cubes that you find and I got hooked on that. I will probably go back and level my SS, but I'll probably make a Warrior first as I love their end game gear and then a Stalker. Also I really like the conversion as well as the addition of more players. I hope this helps you make an informed decision.

I venture to guess most of those people simply want to try the game out, insulting them like this is absurd. I do agree paying customers should move to the head of the line but no need to insult people.

Well,I believe the story of the game starts to become interesting sometime into Wilderrun.
And it becomes more and more engaging as you proceed to the higher level zones.
And then, all the starter zone quests seem to make a bit more sense,in the sense (oooOooo)
that this is a new world,a new game, you get to know some general and fluffy stuff before  you delve deeper into the lore.
    And,uber kills.
    And huge level up screens.
    And hoverboards.
    And reasons.
    The game is fun.
When you are able to play it,that is.

What level do you get hoverboards? Sorry if this isn't directly relevant. I see everyone in Thyad (sp?) with them and I can't wait to get one :x

I have a feeling this game will blow up big time.  It wasn't everyone's cup of tea for $15 a month, not to mention all of the technical issues.  With both of those things out of the way (once the launch issues are resolved) I estimate it's going to explode.  I don't play any more since I've taken a break from mmos in general until something truly new comes around...but I did play for about a year.

Bullshit .. they should make a server for these 2nd class bottomfeeders , where they can go Try it out , then if they decide they want to pony up let them move to GP
Riiight, and then your game would close down in a year from now, the stupidity of ppl....

You can get a mount at level 3. I'm not sure the best way to procure a hoverboard, because I got one for being in beta back in the day. For a while, you had to be level 25 before you could equip one, but they lowered the minimum level dramatically awhile back.

explain how.. they get to try the game with others , if they want to remain f2p they can stay on that server , if they want to sub they join the other ... Both communities happy ..
  • ElminsterElminster Member UncommonPosts: 28
I was actually a sub when the game first when live, but quit....I think it was a good idea for them to go f2p simply because the player base is going to expand tremendously, and with the cash store it will be somewhat the way Rift is now, where they will make money hand over fist with microtransactions....not to mention the fact that alot of streamers will be able to have more variety to their streams

I think they screwed up when they did this. I played back during closed beta and it had more than 4000 players on the server[I play on the pve NA server] and I never once had a queue time of over 3 hours. TBH this is just a very bad move by the company to do this. Didn't they notice the same mistake done by ArchAge?
  • makasouleater69makasouleater69 Member UncommonPosts: 1,096
Lol I am a f2p player, and I never get a queue. It is not like it matters any ways, the game is un playable atm, there is just to much lag.
  • SalmonManSalmonMan Member UncommonPosts: 192
Downloaded and installed, was 8 billionth place in the que with 3-4 hours wait time. Closed game and uninstalled. Went back to playing other MMOs that actually work.
  • TheocritusTheocritus Member LegendaryPosts: 10,020
Downloaded yesterday...Tried to get in 6 different times....Smallest queue was 4000 people and 1 hour wait....Left it open it disconnected before the hour never got in.....Very hard to believe they are so dumb that they have a whopping 2 servers to handle all the player base.....Dumbest thing I have seen in a MMO in a long time.

If they are this short sighted then they are going to fail hard....F2P brings in a ton of players.....It saved games like DDO and LoTRo with a huge influx of population.....2 servers to handle all these people is a disaster.
  • barasawabarasawa Member UncommonPosts: 618
Queue times and lag are both astronomical.

EU having short maintenance hotfixes. Guess these will be ongoing for a couple of days. No point in getting too uptight about it. Seen it all before, will no doubt see it again.

To be honest, this idiot had a major part in why WS flopped the first time.
But even without him Carbine is still amateurish enough to ruin the show.

" I only managed to actually play for an hour or two last night" Why does about EVERY OTHER review, preview, feature etc. on this site seem to contain this line? And yet the respective author puts hours into his write-up ?
"I have to admit i only played an hour", "i only played until level 10" , "i haven't tried PvP/PvE/raiding/crafting..." -it's getting old.
What about the writers would actually play the game they write stuff about?
I've been playing WildStar since beta. I only managed to get an hour or two the night of launch because of the issues mentioned in the article, and because my son fell out of his bed and I went to console him. Thanks for your concern though.

Bill, I can only use my existing character, as after trying to create a new character results in an hour glass timer that never resolves.
