Not really sure any of these changes excite me. If anything sounds like they are trying to simplify a already simple game....
Yeah you usually need to play the game to understand the changes...or can can just eat what others haters are saying and regurgitate it... That works for some I guess
"The idea that I can start on Korriban, rise to Darth, then later sit on the Dark Council. Only to return to Korriban to the same mobs I fought during my earliest training days, and have them even have a small chance to give me a run for my money is beyond silly."
Thats EXACTLY what happens in Korriban incursions with lvl 60 klor slugs, not only THAT but you need 4 dark council members to beat them.
WTF "game is static"? Well, they got educated and learn now. Levels are abstract. Its how it always should have been, when you get to lvl 65 you have crapton of skills more than on lvl 1, and no, lvl1 klor slug wont pwn you, you will STILL be much more powerful than when you were at lvl1, but not stupidly, irrationally so as it was until now.
No, Mandalorians dont suck because they have little "lvl30" by their name just because it happens they are on Tatooine.
You progressed the story, it very much sounds like progress to me, you get many more skills, yup, progress. You just dont get redonculous numberz.
I'm trying to make as much sense your of post as I can, but I might be wrong in my interpretation of your response, but it sounds like you think I said something I didn't. As I said for events and special instances it makes sense. But you are putting people that have invested lots of hours into their characters, with people that have just started. Putting them on almost equal footing, and saying it makes sense now. It really doesn't in my eyes. If SWTOR launched as such I would have no complaint with it.
It's a traditional level based theme park mmo game. Has been since start. Why should a level 40 mob give a level 60 a problem? It works for GW2 because for the most part GW2's progression system is more horizon then vertical. It was designed from the ground up like that. SWTOR was designed from the start to be like most modern theme park MMO's. Which lends itself to more of a vertical style progression.
I'm sorry, but I just don't know how to explain my view to you better. As I wrote this I've read your post, about 3 more times now. I'm just drawing a blank or how to be clearer.
@NukeGamer After reading your reply. Like I said before though, there is no point replying to you. Because you aren't interested in a discussion. You've already made up your mind and there is no room for another persons point of view. The fault is my own though for replying to your post after making that observation the first time. I apologize and it won't happen again.
In War - Victory. In Peace - Vigilance. In Death - Sacrifice.
SO to summarize, We all have one primary stat(and its the same), our companions are now just very colorful buffs ( almost more like a stance in any other game) , and you have made all planets scale....SWTOR was pretty dummyed down to begin, why not just skip the buttons all together and when we log into a new character we can watch the story unfold and use the radial menu to make our conversation choices.

Man you guys love to jump on the bandwagon of not having a clue hmm?
Primary stat? Really that's what made the classes difficult? Let me walk you through stats in Swtor since you clearly don't play and don't have a clue.
Let's take my Sorc. His main stat is Willpower. While I'm leveling and once I get to max level you know how often I pay attention to my main stat willpower? No you don't know it's never. You could call it pizza, main stat, willpower or anything it doesn't matter. You know what matters?
Getting crit to optimal rating Getting alacrity to optimal rating Get surge to optimal rating
your secondary stats in your armourung, enhancements, mods and augments do this not your pizza (willpower, main stat or whatever you want to call)
Companions yep that's been proven you ar me wrong already
Scaled planets yep that's been proven you are wrong already
and now I just proved your main stat wrong.
I know it's swtor and just because it's been successful and continuing to attract a ton of players and push out great content you guys are all desperate and doing whatever you can to bash it. But clearly it's not working and I'd recommend you stick to the facts and a topic you are familiar with next time.
Sooo, I just got around to reading this thread and from what I gather another Star Wars MMO just got NGE'd?

No need to apologize bud. I'm not sorry for dealing in facts, not everyone has their facts straight on a video game especially one they don't play. I provided you with detailed facts to counter your opinions, and false statements. You don't have to apologize for that. Everyone is entitled to their opinions here...but facts will always trump opinion as was the case here...
But the way I read the changes we WILL be lowered level wise if we go back to say Korriban as a Darth or the Emperors Wrath. That doesnt set well with me from an RP standpoint. If people were ganking lower level players on these worlds I wish they would go about fixing this in another way. This sounds like the way GW2 does it. Correct me if I'm wrong please ;D.

Yep pretty sure you never went back before...your abilities you gained as you leveled are still with you. You will be the higher level the planet is, your stats will be better then when you were leveling...you SHOULDNT have any problems with the mobs, three shots instead of one, don't worry Darth you will still be strong. Again if you do I wouldn't worry about RP is worry about learning to play your class.

You are NOT on equal footing as people that just started, you have titles, legacy nad whole story progression behind you, along with all skills/passives and other buffs (like companion influence, companion presence bonus...). And a fact that if they go to higher level planet they will be pwned (because they lack of all those things THAT IS REPRESENTED BY THEIR LEVEL)
Its a tradititonaly themepark and they try to fix traditional problems. Its a band aid on the problem, but band aid nevertheless. It also tries to be RPG instead Diablo style hack&slash MMO - WoW.
You dont want RPG, you want hack&slash Diablo style game, youre perfectly clear, but that hasnt worked out well for SWTOR and now its time for them to incorporate SOME of things that they talked about all those years ago before someone decided that SWTOR should be WOW clone, standard generic MMO issue.
Also, from pure "progression" standpoint, currently, if you go back to grey mobs/quests you get SQUAT. And in new system youll be able to get all relevant rewards like xp/loot/credits relevant to your character level. So, explain, how is new system WORSE than current one?

Yup, and it actually makes sense now, klor slugs are klor slugs, you dont have super hero lvl60 klor slugs that can pwn everything in galaxy. Opposed to lvl1 ones that can be killed by peasant. Both on Korriban and in SAME place. Actually those are SAME exact klor slugs that you killed at lvl1.

It's the "SWTOR: Windows Taste Good" expansion.
Actually SWOTR was NGEd sometime in production where they changed direction and started sayin "WoW is standard and you have to be like WoW or else"
These are actually some of their ORIGINAL ideas what SWTOR was to be about (well, in a limited way those can be implemented now)
All MMOs are simple, lol. Even EvE. What you WANTED to say is "annoying". And im all for removal of needles annoyances. No, need for grinding 10000 simpleton orcs just to get 1 level doesnt make game complex.
SWTOR is about STORY. Its a good thing they are actually focusing on it after a long long time. And you HAVE to have linear story. Well, at least if you want to make it coherent. Because from what i can tell, incoherent doesnt sell.
