A few new player questions...

SendenSenden Member UncommonPosts: 602

Hey, just got the trial of this game and wondered if i could get a few questions answered from you pros out there?

1: I'm looking to do some solo pvp what is a good albion class for this? I played a rogue and a hunter in WoW so i'm somewhat tempted to go scout or infiltrator, any recommendations?

2: Is there a way to get a second quick action bar thingie on the screen? 10 moves just isn't enough and to have to click to change to the next bar all the time, is probably going to be a real pain.

3: How long does it take to know if the game is for me? I understand people have complained about it in the past but most people have also said that with persistance, you will begin to see the game's true beauty.

Thanks for your time.

    1. There are a lot of roles to play in RvR. You might even enjoy roles you would not think of. If the choice is between Scout of Infiltrator, then go scout. You will love you Infiltrator until you hit level 45+ Then you will go out into the Frontier. The changes made to archery classes, as well as some other issues, makes playing an assassin not that much from what you are playing with level 50's. In the BG assassins > archers. After the BG archers > assassins. Hence, you might not enjoy your scout as much going to level 50, but at 50 you will have a lot more fun than playing assassin classes. That is unless you like not having a role to play in large scale sieges and instead are forced to fight other assassins and pick off solo targets that are traveling too the battles. You will end up camping bridges and docks. Sometimes for a long period of time just to get a target. Meanwhile everyone else is having fun at the large battle going on. So, as much as I love my assassin, unles they get some real love, I would play an archer class. Now if you want to stay in the Battlegrounds and never level past 45, then an Infiltrator is the way to go.

BTW, might I recomed you play a Hib instead ;)

    2. If you click on your character info in game there should be a button that says options. Click that and you can have up to 3 quickbars at a time up. If you are using a custom UI that does not have that yet, I think the command is /qbar 2 to pull up the 2nd one and /qbar 3 to get the third one up.

    3. It depends what you are look for. Sometimes it just might be you are on the wrong server/realm for your play style. I would say that to know if the game is for you, you will need at least have 2-3 toons level 20+. I would say that a good trial time is 2 months. In that time you can try out some classes, have at least 1 to level 20 and 1 to level 50. That way you know that leveling to 50 is like, can experience large scale RvR, and have played a few different character types. 2 weeks is too short. Even a month is too short. By the end of 2 months you will either be liking it or not. While it could be possible that if you played it longer you might find something that you like, but if you haven't done it in 2 months (playing 10+hours a week) then you are not going to find it.
