Starting October 22nd new cosmetic items are being implemented into the Crown Store, some of which were available as of October 8th. A lot of these items have a theme to them, guess you call them "scary-esc" type theme. Whatever the theme, they make mention that these new cosmetic items will be great additions for the Witches' Festival that happens in Elder Scrolls Lore in the month of Frostfall (October).

I LOVE the holidays in these games. EQ2 has some of the best I've ever seen. LOTRO isn't bad either. Whats annoying is when they decide not to do them at all like SWTOR "because it isn't part of the Star Wars universe".

Please ZoS don't ruin the economy by adding a AH, there is no reason why we have to be like all those other MMO's lets keep doing it differently. It works fine so don't try to fix it. VOTE NO AH 2016

Still surprised this isn't a thing yet...

I've always felt holiday themed ingame events are essential to keeping mmo's feel like living breathing worlds. They absolutely help to immerse players into the world with fun activities to be completed with friends or guildies. I used to go back to old mmo's just to experience holiday events, Runescape for example. Unfortunately, ESO doesn't maintain these standards just a couple more months and I'll be done with ESO for good.

They can serve a purpose to the overall game play if a developer wants them to.

usually that is only in the form of loot/gear/items. I think you could create some fun ideas, one i have thought about for a long time involves Halloween. It is a simple idea yet effective, imagine you pay real game currency to enter a huge pumpkin patch and in that patch might be 200 pumpkins, you get to select 3,take them home and carve them open to see if any surprise lurks inside.

Perhaps a spooky haunted small village where you have only a certain time limit to go through and search for items that might either be straight up usable or crafted or traded to secret npc's for special rewards.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

Special, time-limited events in MMOs can be fun. But It'd be a lot more fun if they were lore-specific celebrations or events using their own dates rather than just piggy backing on RL holidays with slight name changes.

    From the blog:
These events allow us to step out of that routine and have a bit of fun.
.... These events allow us to step out of that routine [..which is playing a game.. which ppl do for fun..] and have a bit (!) of fun. ... You are weird Mr. Getchell. :P

No lame events that are unrelated to the lore of ESO please.

I'm going to take that as a compliment! But you can't say every single moment in a game is fun. Sometimes we do it just to do it.

I remember in beta they asked about holidays and it was said it isn't part of the lore and it wasn't going to happen. I'm not that up on Elder Scrolls lore so not sure if it is or isn't. But it is clear they are not making a lot of cash so I was expecting this. Personally I like when games do this but right now it will be all up to the players to do some kind of events. There are a lot of good guilds that are very good at putting fun things to do in game.

More and more people are leaving the game because of bugs lag and one big issue is with XBOX and players not getting their crowns. There was one post yesterday that was removed from forums within 10 minutes where people have talked to Microsoft about it and they agree it is fraud because ESO support is deleting support tickets dealing with the issue. Microsoft has said when they receive enough complaints they will deal with it as fraud on ZoS part.

Really is sad how many complaints are coming in and ZoS just ignores them. Also Imperial City hasn't gone down as being fun or good. But then there are some that say it is ok but it seems like most don't like it or are enjoying it.

This game to me could have been bigger than WOW but it has gone the other way. Been running around where i don't see anyone for couple of hours and even then not very many. Towns are empty most of the time. :(

Them's fighting words. I had mumble work fine with 200+ people in it on weekly roams in EVE. I had teamspeak fuck up so that one specific person couldn't hear another specific person which everyone else could hear until one or both of them relogged.

Pumpkin heads.... Some time around the subscription changes debates and the decision to add an ingame store, I remember writing in a forum somewhere that I would "quit eso if the damn pumpkin heads arrived"! Ive always found it pretty tacky and badly implemented cosmetic junk that players seem to leave on their toons far beyond the use-by date for any vegetables... But somehow I find myself obtaining a damn pumpkin outfit, scarecrow AND zombie horse anyway. Hypocritical as it is, I actually like these rather mouldy and certainly enchanted looking holiday items. Eso has always had a depth and texture beyond other games and I like that a little effort went into the costumes, incorporating full body art and some decent vocal effects.

There are like 100 AHs in ESO.
