Do u guys/girls think that everquest 1 has more content andfeatures than everquest 2. Graphics wise i'd say eq2 looks better but its boring and has a higher monthly fee. I havent played the first everquest but i here there are still a lot of of dedicated fans who host conventions.

EQ has 25 times the content in EQ2 graphics arent as good but they are getting better. and sides Eq is lots of fun.
Well EQ1 has much more content since its newer but EQ2 has enough content to keep you busy for a looong time and by time you are done more will be there for you.
EQ2 has over the year added content at an incredible rate.
I would go for EQ2 since its newer and you have a lot more chance of catching up and i see loads of new guilds recruiting atm.
Of course EQ1 will have more content than EQ2. But EQ2 does have better graphics. How does EQ2 look boring? There is quite a bit of things to do but I haven't played it in awhile so I don't know how the newbie population is in both games. SoE is already planning to release yet another expansion to EQ2 that will raise the maximum lvl to 70 and include more pvp and a few other things. Are you trying to decide which game to play?
EQ has better game world, in my opinion, even despite Sony's deliberate attempts to trash their own game by the introduction of the infamous POK.
EQ2 has better graphics, but the class and crafting systems are completely hosed (in my opinion). Play a fighter and you have flashing flames appear when you attack. Play a caster and you have flashing flames appear when you attack. Click on the Heroic Opportunity wheel and bizarre things happen (some of them flashing flames). What is the difference between a fighter and a caster when both have flashing flames for attacks?
Sony game design has lost the vision. I don't think there is any going back to EQ1 because it's just too old. EQ2 doesn't deliver and I'm not sure anything good is on the horizon. WOW is tolerable.

I'm not a WOW fanboy, however you read my post; just saying I can tolerate WOW. EQ is ruined and EQ2 sucks. Now those are personal value statements; feel free to form your own.
WHAT WE NEED IS SOME GOOD MMORPG'S PEOPLE. MELISSA IS EATING HER BABIES!
IMHO - EQ was a great game to start. It was also the end of the decent MMORPGs as we know it
EQ2 - Is the new beginning of worst generation of MMORPGs
WoW - Is a mix of both a decent and a horrible MMO. That makes it tolerable. But not tolerable enough for me. It's fun, quick, and flashy. I don't believe that MMOs should be like that. It's quite childish.
DAOC - Yes i'm adding this one... DAOC actually is the opposite. It's so not quick and flashy. It's actually rather too serious! Of course the feel of the game isn't too epic either so you don't stare in wonder at the world. It's just a "do" kind of MMO not a "sit and stare and gawk" kind of MMO.
Quite frankly, I believe the genre is ruined. It's gonna take a team of writers, not just graphical artists to revive this industry. I only wish I were a Game Designer...

A decent game needs a balance of great (not insane) graphics and amazing storyline. Something that'll grab the players intention and enthrall them to the end. Something that incorporates them into the jumble of everything and makes them feel important. I.E.: Smoky the Bear says: Only You Can Prevent Forest Fires = A great premise for a game in which you are a firefighter and you must fight fires. The lore would include history of great firefighters that have gone before you and the ever infamous Backdraft (no not the movie). It would make players think = Wow I want to be a famous firefighter like the guys I read about in the game. This is of course just an example but still. This is how an MMO should be. Mystery is the other key to a successful MMO. All you need are mysteries that need solving and you'll enthrall players. Like NPC's that say: "Psstt! Hey, have you heard of the Forgotten Desert? I heard no one's ventured there since the Great War. Adventures go in search of it, but they never come back...
Things like this make players keep playing. Impossibly hard bosses. Unreachable (for awhile) quests/lands. Mysterious quests. Ever-involving lore/history. And great graphics. It's a success story in the making. It's at least what keeps me playing...
EQ2 feels like it was designed by some supercomputer in Bill Gate's basement. It's like they fed some fantasy literature into a computer and typed "/Make a game of this". The random element that existed in Everquest is completely gone. There's no feeling of accomplishment and everything feels like it's on rails.
Everquest can still be a good game to play if you have a full group to play with at all times. There's tons of challenging content and dungeons to explore that take a decent amount of skill and teamwork to overcome. But if you don't have a group you'll be stuck LFG or soloing for paltry exp in boring outdoor zones.
My youtube MMO gaming channel
heres a simple check list
Is this your first MMO? If yes, EverQuest 2
Do you consider yourself a hardcore gamer? If yes EverQuest 1
Do you like in depth content with a vast world to explore, with lore to back up everything and everywhere you go? EverQuest 1
Do you like to wait a week on a 3 day shard response? If NO Dont play any SOE game.
Do you enjoy no loss PvP? If yes, EverQuest 2 is as carebear as it gets.
Do you enjoy being lied to? If NO Do not play any SOE games
Easy as that.

7 Years EverQuest The Rathe Server- Great Game, Retired.
1 1/2 years EverQuest 2- Dead by lack of content
Swg 2 years -Dead by NGE
Now playing Eve Online/ Dungeon and Dragons Online TAKE THAT SOE!
Seriously,
having played both and being a former SOE fanboi through thick and thin (until the ice broke) the best SOE option is none of the above.
EQ was an illustrious game and it does indeed have 5 billion expansions.....none of which except for the most recent however, will have anyone playing them. The community isnt dead but it is a corpse when talking about anything below lvl 65.
The game is years old but everytime SOE gets some brainaic idea to improve something they just make it worse, really.
EQ2 is best explained as an afterthought. Some game makers say "lets make a game based on X and Y and Z". SOE decided to make a revenue stream and have been trying to make a game out of it ever since.
Any game maker that sees their multi million dollar investment getting the @#$# kicked out of them by hte compeitor would be looking at ideas to improve their game. SOE's first reaction was to implement a command that takes you to a pizza ordering website.
Seriously, I wont give it up.
I vote for none of the above -- join the club - THERES NO GOOD GAMES right now.
Erm EQ2 PVP isn't carebear IMO, you lose credits and a item from inventory if you die and you can be ganked anywhere!
I couldn't stand playing PVP on that game because the World is all zoned and it feels sooo small with instant travel anywhere. Because it's soo small your gettign ganked every min.
