As Jim Raynor always says, "it's about damn time". Did not get into the beta though hope it comes within the month As long as they fix all the bugs and we get the slightly better version than the current version then I am all for it

I can't tell if the game has progression or not. I really hope it has some sort of progression, at least a ranking system or something. So that I can have a carrot, shooters without carrots tend to be boring.

I can bet that there will be some form of ranked play. But as of now there are only 3 options in the menu - "Play" - normal multi, "Practice VS AI" and "Private Game". Points at the end of the match look like achievement based , not progression.

Yeah which is fine, but the problem is retaining players without some sort of carrot is kind of hard, I bet even for blizzard to pull off. Maybe there is collectible gear or something like TF2 when it went F2P. Without anything to work towards or anything to do other than try to get wins or higher scores at the end of each match, it kills the urge to keep playing for me. Even CS 1.6 servers had HLstats and stuff like that with mods.

I too don't think i will play for too long if there is not some kind of long term goal. Without long term it will be fun only up to the moment i learn how to be effective with each hero (or even sooner 'cos I'm not big FPS fan).

Unit Lost recently put up a youtube vid of gameplay in Overwatch, but one thing that really stuck out, is that Overwatch is not a casual game, its a hardcore skill based FPS, heavily reliant on 'twitch' skills, which, may put some off, but i think will probably make the game more successful than if it had been aimed at the 'casual' market.
