Sorry to burst your bubble but you are wrong. I spent 500 dollars in BDO and with it i was able to get a +17 weapon and full gold +17 armor totalling at 250 defence and 130 damage. People could full combo me on any class with normal gear and they would just scratch me.
The game is as pay to win as Archeage.
We still don't know what the cash shop is going to be like in NA. One would assume (and hope) it would have less of an impact since you have to pay for the game.
It doesnt matter what is in the cash shop as long as you are able to take what ever is being sold in it and sell it in the auction house. Thats how you pay to win in BDO. What i basically did was buy a lot of cats and dog pets and sell them for milllions each. Bam fully decked.
Hmmm, but you said you spent $9,000 on AA and $500 on BDO, quite a difference there.
That said, your post highlights the difficulty any mmo built with extremely vertical power scaling faces. The same could be said for Tera, Neverwinter and others, but I don't consider those games as "p2w" as AA.
Well you could spend 9k usd in BDO too, the thing is that there is a 500 dollars per month limit on the game so mathematically it was impossible LOL.
"There is a 500 dollars per month limit on the game". Very interesting.
love it or leave it, every other discussion (especially the one you guys have here atm) is a waste of time unless you got facts and not only opinions.
if you want another opinion: looked pretty generic to me. the black mage lady who they showed first looked intersting, but all the other classes comming after her.... neeeeh.
hf with BD, i will surely pass on that one

Hey. Got some questions about this game, i hope someone will have time to respond.
So basically im interested in hearing what you can do ingame, beside the standard mmorpg stuff ; quests, combat etc.
1 - Will this game have housing, farms (ArcheAge) or stuff like that ? 2 - Any raids for endgame content (think WoW) ? 3 - Crafting - Will these be suited for endgame, or will drops be superior ? 4 - I understand Theres fishing, is there any other things like this you can have fun with (sandbox elements) ?

1) Yes. 2) Not exactly. There are boss scrolls, but they work differently. They may chance how this works for the Western release. 3) Crafting is... A very different animal. It's not as straight up as in other games. 4) Fishing is technically a crafting skill, of which there are quite a few with their own intricacies, so i'd say yes.
You spent 9K USD for something you can get for free or for few dollars if you join with friends for founder's pack. Dude better hire someone to play with you, it will be cheaper.
What are you even talking about, that 9k usd is of archeage where i bought apex and got gold from it and a bunch of other stuff. The things i got are almost impossible to get by normal play.
I got apex too, for free, it took less than 1.5 months normal play after the western start of the game.
Uh yes but did you get Divine full set and epic weapon for free too? I dont mean i got the apex, i bought it and sold it for gold to gear myself and also to help my guild. I think i spent the equivalent of 800 usd on just a house. See the thing is it took you 1.5 months. But i was in the most competitive guild in the game and needed to be on top. I couldnt wait that long and do things normally. This is with playing alpha too and investing in stuff i knew prices were gona skyrocket eventually too
Anybody who thinks you can match 9k invested in Archeage with time must either be a child who doesn't go to school, a multi-boxing botter, or super ignorant of reality.
Archeage is P2W AF. There's zero debate man. Stop it.
"As far as the forum code of conduct, I would think it's a bit outdated and in need of a refre *CLOSED*"

Yeah but what do you win? A spot in a game that has lost 80% of its player base since it was released. Probably closer to 95% of the people who have accounts.
I paid the 150 for alpha access and learned a few things then I waited for release. I played that until Dec. I left the game with 5 thatched farms, 5 scarecrows, a fellowship plaza, 3 or 4 townhouses, 30K in gold. 20 or so horded APEX, 500+ workers comp potions, stacks of crystals and who knows what else.
I went back when they had the expansion/redo last month. I played for another 3 weeks and remembered why I stopped playing the first time. You can only do the same things so many times before your eyes bleed.
So when you 'do well' at this game what does it get you? Not much. because other than beating the RNG there is no real challenge to anything in the game.
Now all people do is sit around for timers to go off and do whatever raid schedule theyre online for. Maybe a battle here or there but there arent enough people at those to bother.
Thats it. So why spend money on the game to improve?
The sad part is ARK a game no one even heard of when AA was dying just gave away 75K in prize money to players who couldnt buy their way to anything. Imagine if AA tried to do these e-game things other games do? THEN spending 9k might be justified, assuming you werent banned. But then again if someone spends 9 there is always going to be someone who spends more. Dont be surprised if they try it eventually. People would send more money than the prize pool...

if not, please don't claim it's "nothing". because it IS something.
