"On Friday, October 2nd, at 3PM EDT/12PM PDT/7PM UTC, we will do a livestream update on when Beta 1 will officially begin." - taken from Newsletter 14.
This is good news, I'm actually a founding backer, but haven't bothered to participate in the alpha, so will be interesting to see what they start sharing with the public on this.

@JamesGoblin As you said before excitement is bad, i agree with that, overhyping something is usually pretty bad because when the game comes out it may not be so hype and dope as they wanted it to be.
I must admit I'm surprised with this, kind of delay (if you were followong what was happening during the actual beta delay and the missing graphic programmer).
PS for anyone that missed the stream, CU beta will start at some point in winter, that would be early 2016.
It's a little longer delay than I was anticipating but I didn't think Beta 1 was going to start this year. It will be tough to get all the things they want to do done before winter ends for that matter. The next 6 or so months of development should be very interesting though.
BETA??? wow is this game actually in any state to be in a Beta phase?Last time i looked it was barely a game i would call half done.
Is this not sounding like a ploy to step up some more cash flow?Beta is a phase ou are tweaking last minute problems like server issues and bugs ,it is not a phase you just call Beta but are still developing the game.
Otherwise are we to assume this game is finished and on that note, anyone playing it can say it is in a finished state?
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
I also expected something like that, looks like CSE wants to take time and make it much more visually appealing than what they have now (not to mention that old pre-Alpha footage people are often referring to as "state of the game").
This is even more important since, if I recall the stream correctly, NDA will be dropped once Beta starts.

This is how the guys at CSE handle it. We have an old school alpha, and we will get an old school beta here. The progress the game makes is nice, and I am confident that this game kicks ass when it is finished. The beta is splitted in 3 phases, and while it will be much more mature than now, don't expect the nowadays typical beta where you cannot differ between finished game and beta. Regarding the step up for more cash flow, I don't think so. If you are still on the fence and don't get hooked by the current weekly class reveals, you won't get hooked by this type of beta.
