I joined Lockjaw around the time it started. EQ was my first MMO and I was heavily addicted to it during my early teen years when it came out. I always remember it fondly, but thought that if a classic server were to go live, I wouldn't have the time to get anything done in the old school EQ. The way these progression servers are now are a perfect combination of what EQ always was, and the more casual friendly that MMOs are now. No more corpse runs, faster exp, no more hell levels. It can be seen as sad in a way, but in the end it makes going back to EQ a smooth transition.
That being said, if you have even thought about trying them out, DO IT! I am having so much fun on these progression servers, I've actually found myself trying to leave work early to come home in play. No MMO has given me that feeling in a very long time. Give it a try, 14.99$ is all you have to lose!

however, many felt that some changes actually made for bad memories such as hell levels ,corpse run etc and this did not make it to any of the TLE
also on a sidenote if joining p99 be warned it is run by a few guys and fan managed.
banning can occur easily there so be careful.some people get banned for getting into arguement with friends of the devs there or trading with players who RMT(even if you did not do it).
so while good if you must have the old style fix watch for above!
