And boy is the new Freeport nice, SRo and NRo have also been revamped. They are planning on revamping all the cities eventually and from what I've read Qeynos is next.

Playing: varies every day it seems.

People still play this horrid game? I got to level 63 in like 12 days played, and it is the biggest waste of time. Mobs are fricken stupid, AI is horrid. The game is just idiotic. Expansions make Sony the money and no one plays EQ. Just go to WoW, get it over with. Heck all the best EQ guilds left long ago.

If you have any questions please ask. I have moved on to WoW from eq and no longer have any desire to play a dead game. Thank you. (posted by another selling his account in EQ1)

    Quiet, troll.

As for the new Freeport,Ro etc... yes they are very aesthetically pleasing, but imo revamping these classic zones is unforgivable and is the #1 reason I probably won't be buying this expansion.

Oh and to the previous poster who bashed EQ. Here's a little info on EQ and WOW. After the Planes of Power expansion came out, all the little kids and teenies came to play EQ. They could travel faster and further in less time. It ruined the game. Then when WOW came out, suddenly all the little kids and teenies switched over. So you got all the little immature kids and teenies that just want to play a game to be 1. the best. 2. have the best items in the whole game. 3. join a guild or clan that raids (so they don't have to do very much). 4. sell their character or gold for real money.

BTW if EQ had been released worldwide I bet it would have had 5 million players. Remember, once WOW is explored completely, people will leave. They always do...

*I can play 3 games: 1 that's 200 years before the original game, the original game, and one that's 500 years later. And all you can say is: Well...there's Warcraft I, and II, and III...*

BTW getting to lvl 63 in 12 days is possible, with no sleep. But I bet you knew nothing of the world around you. Nothing about Kerafyrm the Sleeper, Veeshan, or any of the other dragons. Why we can fight the gods. All that stuff takes time to read and understand. It's what an RPG is all about. Not about WOOOOHOOO I just got the uber staff of uber power. I don't care where or how this staff came to be but I got it. WOOT. In the real MMORPG world, we used to ask ourselves, "Hey wait, why am I searching for the staff of uber power again?" And low and behold, there was always an answer. A game where you have to use reading skills, what a novelty!

I quit WOW because I realized that while an enemy from the north was attacking my starting lands, once I completed that quest, I learned that a whole nother city was being beseiged by another enemy. I was like: Woah, what happened to the first enemy attacking my city? That's where that game's lore/story gets strayed. Qeynos has always been attacked by Gnolls and the Undead. It won't change and I won't have to travel to another city to save it. And the Gnolls will never stop attacking = ) Besides WOW in the early levels felt like city hopping. Once you exhausted all the quests in one small city, you moved to the next one until you hit your main city (Ogrimarr or whatever it's called). I say once you reach level 5, the NPCs should just say: Go to the main city. Instead of: Well you could go and complete this quest in the main city but you could also help our neighboring city out too. Yeah right... That game has completely turned me off. Yes I gave it enough time and watched enough people at work playing it!

Another piss poor SOE hater, Troll'n around trying to raise his post count to help his 'little' ego, as if it matters.

Most every games AI is 'stupid', even WoW's. I don't consider a raptor screeching just before dying to call friends 'intelligent' nor npcs walking away from you when they are about to die 'impressive' nor being summoned by a boss 'new'. These things are in WoW and WoW got them from EQ. WoW is a cartoony clone of EQ. They (blizzard) took the class workings of Diablo 2, dumped into a warcraft setting and use EQ AI logic. It only offers some gimmicks that don't leave you feeling satisfied. Where is the challenge with having a Hearth stone or all the flight paths? Thats where EQ has been different. It's hard, death has real consiquences, not just a minor hit to your gear. Yes EQ has the Luclin spires to help get around on a 15 min timer, yes there are PoK portal books to help travel but they aren't everywhere and only make it easy to reach cities for the most part, not in every zone, you are still forced to travel in dangerous conditions and this trains you to be a better player. In EQ all classes have a lot of running around to do unless you are a druid/wizard AND the destination is close to one of your portal locations. Returning to your bind spot is only easy for the soft caster classes Nec, Wiz, Mag, Enc. But unless they happened to have bound close to where they died they have to run back naked to their body or use their guild hall to summon their corpse. At the high lvls melee classes can quest for a device that can return you to your bind point but its a 60's and higher quest and it far from easy but when you do have it you appreciate the hard work it took to get it, it wasn't just given to you.

And not all the good guilds left EQ, I logged in to find my guild close to averaging lvl 70, stronger then ever and has been raiding all the new content. Additionally I am seeing nearly every day someone coming back to EQ in guild chat or /ooc and it's typically from WoW.

About the revamped cities, it's irrelavent weither you buy the expansion or not, everyone gets the changes.

Freeport functions very differently now that zones have been merged, the guards are epic and there is a band of them that travel around and see through invis.

I personally love the changes, it helps the game stay modern with all the new content. Its akward to go from one zone thats all modern into a zone that looks like it wasn't finished (the classic area), so now they are bring the old up to the new and less zoning is always a good thing.

If you want to deal with people like Sebbonx then go to WoW, he speaks and acts like the majority of WoW players. If you like being told how to invest your talents and how to play your class 'if' you want to raid then go play WoW. If you want a game that won't be offereing any new classes for a long time (due to PvP balancing go play WoW.

Playing: varies every day it seems.
