In just over a week Fallout 4 will be released, and many gaming companies will have reduced revenues for several months. When will Bethesda learn about the impact they cause when they release a Ben Howard video game?
Uh huh. Just because you like it doesn't mean everyone does. Fallout is meh for me. And I imagine I'm not alone. Now if it had been another Dragon Age, Witcher, Mass Effect, etc, I might agree.

He was being humorous, dude. That said, just because YOU don't like it doesn't mean a million or two people aren't going to be playing it over the next four months.

While I'm not the biggest fan of Fallout 4, it's probably one of the most hyped games I've ever seen. It might not sell as well as Skyrim, but Fallout 4 should still sell more than 10mil copies.

Probably, but I think that the impact on other companies still will be pretty varying. It will surely affect people who make similar games but companies like EA sports will hardly notice it. It is kinda like when Taylor Swift releases a new album, Miley Cyrus might sell less albums for a few months but AC/DC will not notice anything.
I will have to wait a year or 3, in till modders fix it. Because it will be utter garbage like all beths games with out mods. You are right though, the hype on this game is def strong haha. I dono about saying its gonna take game play, and money from other games Most beths games are easily beat with out mods. If the trend is right, they get easier too, so as morrowind was hard, oblvion got alot easier, and skyrim was literally button spam, and you could take out everything.

Well EA hardly notices anything in any case so not a good example XD Kidding aside I see your point. But it's a bit different when comes down to gaming. When a game becomes a hit many people buy it anyway and that's a loss for companies trying to hype their products. Because most people don't "love" any style or genre of gaming exclusively like music.
Gaming Rocks next gen. community for last gen. gamers launching soon.
I may buy F4 when I can get a good deal on g2a or greenman. I haven't played the previous versions so no little about the franchise. Probably play SWBF for a while anyway.
Pretty serious exaggeration. I'm a big fan of Bethesda games, but they seldom take me away from multiplayer games for longer than a week. The players who spend much longer than that are not enough to have a major impact on other games.

They hired all the modders from nexus to work on this one before release.

I'm going to wait and see how the modding is going to play out for this game. For me, Bethesda game's attractions are in the ability to mod. This game has a couple of concerns for me.
1. I am hoping Valve doesn't try to turn it into MT again. IMO that could hurt the dynamic that made Skyrim the most modded game ever. That was based on the pooling and sharing of knowledge. Throw money into the mix and you chip away at modder's willingness to share their work to anyone who wants to use it. Just look at the Chesko / Fore fiasco.
2. The advances in FO4 are going to make it even harder to mod. For example. Voiced player character. This means that any mod that introduces any NPC interactive dialog will require both voiced response from the NPC and now the player. Introducing a new NPC means getting a new voice actor. But for the player characer's voice,....that's not going to be possible.
I have to wonder if we will ever see another "Vilja" or "Inigo" for Bethesda games again.

How is that not going to be possible, interesting NPC a 2 gb mod for skyrim, as a crap ton of new voiced npc. Not to mention, it doesnt require voice.
I ll do what I always do. Wait a year or so and get it dirt cheap on a steam sale or something. I have plenty of games to play, no need to rush and buy it now.

I didn't say it would be impossible to mod, What would be impossible would be to have all these different mods that have dialog from different people. That would leave the player with voiced dialog from different actors for each mod loaded.
Think about it.
In Skyrim, Interesting NPCs introduces a voiced character. You click Talk and they respond with a voiced reply.....Great!, The player's response is text on the screen and can say anything you want.
That's not going to happen in F04. Because now you have a voiced NPC, and the player's responses are voiced. So that means that unless there is some collaborative effort to re voice the player, then every person's voiced mod will have a different voice for the player. So, as I said, there would have to be a collaborative effort to have a unified re voiced player dialog and if you want to mod, you would have find the same voice actor or maybe send your lines off to the modder(s) to have them voice it for you....I dunno. But it's going to be a hell of a lot more involved now to create custom voiced mods.
I suppose there is also the option to leave it out altogether. There are some really good Skyrim mods that change the dialog for characters like Aela. And where the modder adds dialog that isn't in vanilla, it goes to silence with the subtitled text on the screen. It works, but it's very noticeable.

More like 21 responses of Fallout 4 is nearly here, Yay/Nay. 21 responses of WTF is Ben/Todd Howard? I don't know/care, it's Fallout 4!

And we all know it is going to be buggy. This is Bugthesda....
That said, I am totally buying it.
Mise well just go throw your money on the ground at walmart, and yell free 70 bucks, it would be more entertaining
