And than they invested 6 billion dollars ( By comparison GDP of United Kingdom  is 3 billion dollars) in Candy Crush.

Basically all the money WoW franchise has ever made is now used to buy a mobile phone game developer that is going the way of Zynga

Hots has a matchmaking problem. It's also a very new and little understood game. You're totally  at the mercy of your team mates when it comes to winning. It's not going to in their top five, or even ten money earners but it's doing well enough that they'll be working on it. The monetization itself is well done.
I play Hots but I find little reason to spend money on it.  With work I got all the heroes I want.  The boost packs are unneeded.  By the time I raise 10k in gold the price of the newest hero is 10k.  So no need to buy.  Costumes do not interest me nor mounts.

The real problem is not the game - it's that vast majority of MOBA playerbase has zero interest in anything outside of LoL and Dota2.

Everyone who us going against LoL and Dota2 is basically hitting the same wall - can't budge the players away from those 2 games.

True enough, Smite has probably been circling the drain for just that reason. The only quesiton is, will HoTS be more successful than Smite was?

This is nothing more than Blizzard trying to coerce their stocks. I cannot believe people are so silly to spend any money at all on mobile phones,a phone is to call someone for a reason, not to game on some puny screen with terrible controls. Blizzard runs it's business very shallow, like offering rewards in other games while playing a different game.Sorry but if i am playing Hearthstone i don't want your crappy HOTS rewards,i want HS rewards.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

That's probably because they're better than the competitors.

The GDP of the UK is 3 trillion dollars, not billion...a small difference. Also, like it or loath it, Candy Crush Saga has been one of the biggest grossing games on mobile devices for years, I hardly think they will have overvalued such a large investment. I would be curious to see HOTS player numbers though, while it wont be able to put scratch into the competition, it would be interesting to see if it's managing to carve a niche for itself in the market.
