CGI is worse than in The Hobbit 2. The first few seconds look like videogame graphics on a playstation.
The problem with CGI is that it has become extremely apparent given the overuse. CGI vs. a green screen for large backgrounds looks super plastic as well. I fear this is going to become a norm for movies from the fantasy and even sci-fi genre of films.
I love a lot of the actors in the movie. Duncan Jones directed one of my favorite movies of all time (Moon). I just think the CGI looked awful. It was honestly brutal to watch cgi + actors on screen together.

We are on a point where the CGI looks just fake, outdated, old. Maybe is time to go back to the bases.
make note of the sub text "the beginning" under the logo. i guess they have plans for more movies than just this one. they are probably gonna try to build a lotro type triology.
also remember that the CGI will look much better in theaters than on this trailer.
"Treasure of the Four Crowns" has THEE BEST non-CGI work of any movie in history. If you hate todays CGI take a look at the action scenes from that movie.
I think it looks awesome, just wondering if the mainstream will go out to see it. It could make 200mil from everyone who has played the game alone fwiw
CGI looks very artificial and the whole movie looks like it was made for teens. Not a bad thing IMHO, since the teens are probably the target audience for the game as well. But, it's just not something that I would find interesting to watch.

It's amazing how many adults enjoyed the "How to train your Dragon" animation movies, yet those are also obviously made with "children friendly" graphics. Which, actually, doesn't lessen the fact that they are masterfully designed and animated. I guess some of us choose to keep a part of our children's mind, able to escape in many fictional worlds which are not always super realistic, and others have chosen to become old tight arsed farts... get off my lawn! style. To each his own, I guess.
I think it's not about old tight arsed farts, but about preferences. WoW movie does not look like it was made for kids like some nice Pixar/Disney cartoon and it's not for mature audience either (Conan or LOTR comes to mind). It looks like some teen CGI movie to me. Twilight saga, Last Airbender etc.
The CGI would be passable if it was all CGI. Cuz then sure, it's WoW stylized. But alongside real world actors, it looks terrible. I had moderate hopes for this movie, but it looks like it's going to be another Dungeons and Dragons.

Their isn't even a release date yet. For a movie that is if had to guess a year from release I think it is looking very nice. I am hoping for a good acting.

I'm sure I'll watch it eventually but I doubt I'll pay for the movie ticket.
I've never played WoW but I want to see that film!
Looks like we have a next fantasy trilogy in the pipeline.
