Games not bad. I enjoy some of the quests. Looking forward to the removal of V ranks.

Shitty, unbalanced classes with "freedom" to build one way, phasing that makes it basically a single player game and horrid combat animations....nah I'm good.
I do disagree it was a good thing you waited. The game still has issues and some big but a lot has been fixed. Yet there is just something about the game that keeps pulling you back to it. To me the sad part is they could have done so much better and yes give WoW a run for it's money. I did think going B2P was going to really hurt the game and it hasn't. Yet the bugs they can't fix or the lag issues for a lot of people just hurts the most. But even having that the game still makes you want to login the next day and then the next and so on.
ESO is decent. But its PvP sucks (all PvP like Cyrodiil sucks, imo), Cyrodiil is too damn big and annoying to get around and there's no real alternative aside from wandering Imperial City which isn't solely PvP. The PvE is great, except on console anyway, where you can't just try and get a group together for anything through chat because there is no goddamn chat, and the group finder is broken as shit.
Though there are supposed to be some tweaks to the group finder in Orsinium and also allowing cross-faction grouping for it to speed things up, so i'll likely hop back on for that.

If you're an old school gamer who loved UO or love Skyrim, do yourself a favor and pick up this game. I didn't buy the game at launch because of the bad reviews but I wish I had. I picked it up on sale at humblebundle.com last week and I can't believe how much fun this game is. Insane.
Anyway, if you have a few extra bucks to kick around and are looking for something old school with amazing Skyrim like graphics, give it a shot.

I bought ESO last week. It was only 28 Euro in a local media store. The installation was a bit of a mess because it requires so much space on the hard drive and it takes quite some time to update with a 2MBit DSL. I had to take the hard drive to the office. There is glas fiber with lots of bandwidth.
The game runs smooth in HD with settings medium to high on my aged dualcore and two low end ATI 5xxx crossfired. This seems to be a game that is a MMORPG. Combat is a bit different but i start to like it. I am really looking forward to play the game through winter.
I still play ESO and enjoy it to an extent. Level 1 to 50 is fun the first time around. The VR content is so grindy and boring. It's hard to get motivated to grind out the 16 VR levels. Hopefully, Orsinium will be fun.

I have 83,4 gigabytes of ESO on my computer: 41,6 Gb for US server and 41,7 Gb for EU server. I've never seen any other game download and install a separate copy to play on another server. O.o I decided to give it a try after one year break when it went free-to-play and discovered my character was on another server after downloading all the files and logging in. It did the whole process all over again to get to the other server.
actually if you played UO back in the day you will see the conection. It has more freedom then WoW.EQ.EQ2 and such. a class is not limited to a single weapon or armor type, the only thing picking the class does is give you 3 skill trees, but the rest is open to creation.

I feel that ESO is a typical mainstream fantasy theme park MMORPG with all strengths and weaknesses of that type of games. Nothing more and nothing less. It is certainly not a bad game if you compare it strictly with other fantasy theme park MMORPGs. Comparing it to other types of MMORPGs or single player Elder Scrolls maybe doesn't do it justice because the other games have their own strengths and weaknesses that are typical of the genre they represent.

Been playing it for a couple of days and parallel been playing Neverwinter and both Eso and Neverwinter feel ok not super or the best but they are both fairly nice to play. I'm still hooked on day 3 let's see how long I'll be playing these 2.

I play with Arrow Keys and Num Keys (Yes, those on the right side of Keyboard) and it can be difficult to have to mash buttons and on top of that Aim and move/Dodge/Parry/ect. Too much twitching I believe.
Tell me i am wrong and things have changed to get me to try it again...tell me I can play the game with Left/Right Mouse, Arrows and maybe 3 hotkeys AND succeed.

I played the game more-or-less fine during ESO's pay-to-play season, though their DirectX 11 was buggy and some files had to be tweaked. Then they changed it to free-to-play. The game didn't save any defaults and automatically decided to change the servers when it re-downloaded files for the free-to-play version. There was no notification that the game creates a separate folder and downloads everything all over again for the other server. In many other MMO games you switch servers without the game installing a second whole copy of itself in a separate folder.

You know it is the ONLY big title i have not tried yet,i saw a different picture watching videos but i definitely cannot judge the game as i have not seen enough or played it.
However i feel a game if it is any good,should have the confidence to offer a trial,i only need 1 day even lol.
I might eventually try it somewhere down the road,who knows Steam usually offers some sale price.
For the record ,i never liked Skyrim,one of my biggest let downs of all time.I even went out and bought a PS3 or was it PS4 i don't even remember,just for that game,now that system collects dust.Now in some kind of fairness,i did hear reports that the PC version was way better,i was a dumbass buying the console and game when i could have just bought the game for PC.
Old UO,Skyrim was nothing like old UO and i did like that game.BACK THEN not now.My standards for game design are now MUCH more demanding.
Might be a good thing then that ESO is nothing like Skyrim, perhaps you might enjoy ESO, although i also think that them having a free trial of the game is long past due, you can get the game fairly cheap at the moment from Amazon, but digital downloads are still expensive, and i would not recommend anyone buy the game as it is without some serious research into it first, even if only to watch a few youtube lets plays.
The PC version of Skyrim is better than consoles because all the mod upgrades. Wizard, you come from being an FFXI lover which is a highly deep/heavy group based PvE game which ESO is not. I think ES is great for PvP and a good Skyrim like experience when you need a solo game on the side.
And in my opinion ESO is very much like Skyrim, especially when you play with controller, and I am not just talking about the new UI. Someone said best mmo on the market above. Not even close, unless you are an Elder Scrolls fan.
It is worth the money though. Pretty affordable to try out, since it has more hours of gameplay than most single player rpgs and only cost the same for the base game and subsequent DLC.

I agree, it does have a Skyrim feel to it, I love it.

I wish they'd throw in a free trial though, they need a hook. I think tons of people would stay if they gave it a shot.

So many things need attention. While I will say Leveling in ESO from 1-50 was a fantastic themepark experience.
